Still sad that more than 1/2 the country still prohibits it, but good for another one allowing it!

I would actually expect the North to rebel more.

I always found it interesting the south is generally historically racist/prejudice, but I see more interracial children in Florida than any of the other states I've visited up north (Ohio, Newyork, maine, etc...).

#17 Posted by Braun_Roid_Rage (704 posts) -

@Fightingfan: The south doesn't claim Florida haha.. Not that I have a problem with interracial couples or race in general. Yeah that's the stereotype, but it's not nearly as bad as people say.

I'm generally conservative on most issues, but I never have understood the vehement opposition to gay marriage. How 2 consenting adults decide to live their lives has literally no effect on anyone else in any way.

I don't agree with homosexuality but just legalize it already so they all shut up about it, tired of seeing it everywhere.

#21 Posted by HuggyBear1020 (456 posts) -

@huggybear1020: Mostly about beliefs man.

But that's my whole problem with it. As a strong believer in smaller government and personal freedom, I don't think it's the government's place to force mine or any other religious beliefs down people's throats.

Yeah true. I don't think it's the government's place to shove homosexuality down ppl's throats either. I think marriage is meant to be between a man and woman. But ay, opinions are like assholes right ?

#23 Posted by MakeMeaSammitch (3685 posts) -

Do you think the supreme court is going to force the south to accept it once eveybody else has?

How is allowing people to go about their own business shoving it down your throat? You ultracons confuse the fvck out of me.

And what effect does 2 gay people getting married have on your personal life?

The Supreme Court has followed the culture before; it's an inevitability that they'll eventually rule the many gay marriage ban challenges brought to them unconstitutional.

And I doubt anyone cares about you here or any where else.

But I'll bite, how is the government forcing homosexuality on people? Don't like same sex marriage, don't marry the same sex. Problem solved. What sense does it make to force your views on other people when nothing is being forced onto you?

I said I don't agree with it. What are you talking about? Don't agree means I don't think it's right, is that easier to understand?

#34 Posted by hoola (6422 posts) -

This would have never been a "problem" if government hadn't decided to be involved in it in the first place. Who a person is with, both emotionally and physically, should be no business of the state's. We are all individuals and the government should treat us as such. No law should be different from one person to another simply because of someone's relationship status.

I would hope mommy & my girl care but maybe you're right, i'm kind of a jerk.

I said my peace, and i'm done with the topic. Funny seeing ppl get all riled up tho ha.

I respect that opinion, the problem I have with it is that you agree with marriage to multiple people as well.

it's an innate characteristic. Saying you disagree with homosexuality is like saying you disagree with woman or asians. It simply doesn't make sense.

ehh.... what I said before. Homosexuality. I don't think it's right, I don't agree with it. That was my initial post but you said the term "disagree" is not correctly used.

Which makes as much sense as saying "I don't think it's right for people to be black"

Doesn't make sense to disagree with homosexuality or the actual sentence doesn't make sense in the correct terminology?

Oh, so ur not agreeing with my opinion, not my actual form of expression. I see.

The sentence does make sense then, you just don't agree with the context in said sentence.

Both. You seem uneducated about human sexuality.

Is that comment serious or sarcasm? (If it's serious, that should have been hordes of hell rather than hoards of hell. If it was sarcasm, then I suppose a reference to various hells stashed away in different places would work.)

Do you always call people "uneducated" when they have a different opinion than yours?

The sentence makes total sense, and is used correctly. You don't agree with the CONTEXT of the sentence therefore personally think it doesn't make sense.

No, only when they show a lack of understanding in the subject.

Also I didn't say you were uneducated, I said you were uneducated in the subject of human sexuality. Which isn't your fault as it is not included in the curriculum.
