If your significant other cheated on you..

One of my best friends was cheated on by her boyfriend. She ended the relationship. But he keeps constantly calling her and crying and saying how sorry he is and begging her to give him another chance.

Some people say things would never be the same if they got back together, and once the trust is broken it would take forever to rebuild. And the popular "once a cheater always a cheater" quote.

But other people are telling her that even though he made a mistake, he wouldn't cry over someone so much if he didn't have such strong feelings for you. And it may not be the same, but love can repair and regrow anything. Even after the biggest heart break by the one you thought would not do that.

I'm just curious what everyone else's thoughts are on this subject and what you would do if something like that happened to you.

@EnergyAbsorber: In the long run it's better that she leves him. The hard truth is, she wil fall in love with another man and evetually forget about him. It takes time to heal from this but tell her to actualy visualize what he did to her in her head. Actually putting yourself in his shoes is a good way to really see where his heart is, I'll give you a clue, it's in his pants region.
