Would you try and find the owner? Keep the money and get rid of the other evidence? Leave it? Give it to a homeless person? Turn it in to the police? Buy your wife or girlfriend a present with the money?

Try and give it back, all money intact. I like having money, but it's far more important being happy with the decisions I make.
if any cash is inside then I would take the cash. Everything else is useless to me so it would be either trash, or if no money was in the wallet I would turn it in.
I found a wallet outside my work a couple months ago. No money in it, so to the lost and found it went
What I always do; check it for ID information so I can get it back to the owner. In instant karma news, once I was going out to meet a friend for coffee and found a credit card laying on the ground and contacted the card company so they could cancel it and notify the cardholder. On my way back an hour or so later. less than 50' from where I found the wallet, I found $40 in cash on the ground (which I kept, since there was no way to tell where it came from) :Pxaos
Thats awesome.
The owner will be happy enough to get the wallet back with all cards intact. At least I would. I don't carry a lot of cash around, only as much as I'm planning to use that day. Or actually night, I only use cash in bars. If I'm stupid enough to forget my wallet somewhere, I deserve to have the cash stolen. And it's just cash, I'm more worried about having to renew my IDs, bank card et cetera.Try and give it back, all money intact. Still, stealing someone's cash would feel bad to me regardless of their attitude, even if I rationalized it.
