Go into your Profile Preferences. There should be checkboxes for what is/isn't posted to your friends' feeds. Uncheck anything having to do with bio/description/etc... stuff.

Yes, but you can delete it by clicking the 'x' on the top right hand corner of that specific post.

There's something in your privacy settings to hide updates like that, I believe. It would be nice if they would just do away with the feed honestly.

Or you can just not list a religion, like me, and keep it to yourself.

Yeah I like to keep things like that private. Potential employers for example, do make an effort to look at people's Facebook pages these days, and I'd not like to be judged on what I put on there. So sexual orientation, relationship status, political views and religion I like to keep set to 'friends' only, or better still, not on there at all. That way there's no chance, because you may accidentally set something to 'friends of friends', which could be a very, very large number of people.
