I listen to bands like Disturbed, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Three Days Grace and stuff like that. Any music (not obvious music that everyone already has) that I might like you can list here with hopefully a link from youtube so I can hear it.

A new great song is "Whispers in the Dark" by Skillet. You might want to try some Tool off the AEnima or Lateralus CD. Megadeth is always good, not too heavy and you can still understand them. Black Sabbath. Trapt is alright at times. Soundgarden. Alice in Chains. Bush. Mad Season. Temple of the Dog. That should have you set for more than a few mix CD's.

Try the Mushroomhead single off the Headbanger's Ball CD.  I can't remember what it's called, but you should like it.  Good to see someone put Disturbed at the front of their list!

Sweet some more Skillet peoples. I love their new album, but I don't like much of their old stuff.

I absolutely loved the original Adema. The original singer Marky Chavez is in this new band called Midnight Panic and the rest of Adema is now on their 3rd lead singer and they have gone back to their nu-metal roots with a new singer who sounds like the original singer.

Why don't you just listen to the radio?
It's pretty much the same as the CD you're planning on making.

Dream Theater, Killswitch Engage, Slipknot, Rush is always good, Opeth can't go wrong. Harvey Danger is really good. Stone Sour is pretty cool, 30 Seconds to Mars (Not the popular songs though), Aveneged Sevenfold, Chevelle, Foo Fighters, Godsmacks first album, Incubus is always good.

I was just giving examples of bands I like so people could recommend me some songs that I might not have heard of. What everyone is doing is just listing a bunch of obvious bands that everyone's already heard of. When I say recommend me a song and someone says "Stone Sour" that isn't really helping me out.

Open Your Eyes-Guano Apes

What You Deserve-The Exies

It's Going Down-Linkin Park & The Executioners

You also might be able to find a leaked track off Linkin Parks new album Minutes To Midnight called "What I've Done" Here's a clip of it: http://ringbacktones.vzw.com/pop_listen.jsp?title=What%20I%27ve%20Done&artist=Linkin%20Park&cid=00224073
