Its 2 * pi * r * (r + h)

2 pi r 2 + 2 pi r h where r is radius and h is height of the cylinder.

Get the circumference of the circle at the top, then times that by the height of the cylinder to get the area of the curved bit. Then work out the area of the circle and times it by two.
