The forum thing used to tell us if we had new posts in topics we created but it doesn't do that any more. Ever since the new ugly design, I spent 98.37% less time on this site and forum.

I have to wholeheartedly agree that this "redesign" is counterproductive. Firstly, it's now THE slowest of all my bookmarked pages, it's a mess to find things - I've noticed that although I have "PC" selected, I end up reading stuff about Wii reviews in no time (did not happen with the unbroken (old) website... I embrace change, when it makes sense and done well. This, though, I don't embrace at all!
This is one of the things brought up as a needed feature in the Bug & Feedback forum. The answer was that this forum is home made and getting features that would normally be found in typical forum software installed or wrote in, takes time. With the money they are spending on having people write code for this, they could have licensed vBulletin, IPB or phpBoard instead and have everything already built in so all that had to be done was skin it.
you don't. isn't the new site wonderful? if it's any consolation, there are so few people left here posting it's not too hard to keep track of thread activity anymore.
The topic title turns grey when you exit it and turns back to the regular color when another person posts in it. But that feature still doesn't bring you to the newest post. I thought clicking the >> after the topic title would take you to the newest post but all it does is take you to the last post, skipping any new posts that were posted after you left. Guess you have to do it the hard way until GS fixes it.
If someone replies to your comment and/or mentions you, then you can either get a notification through email or off of your "wall" (I guess you could call it that)
That's all I can really think of that could maybe work.
What I'd like to know if we'll get back the posts we lost when the new site was launched. Prior to the launch, I had about 9,700 posts; I was so close to having that 10K party.

The arrows only take me to the page that the last post on, I still have to scroll down to get to the new posts. Also, if you click on the arrows, the topic title does not change from bold white to standard gray fonts. You still have to click on the topic title to get it to change, but it still does not take you to the last post or last page, just the first post.
I've been saying this since day one of the redesign. I think it's the single most important feature that needs to come to fix this shitty new site. You guys should all go mention it in my thread on the Bug Reporting/Feedback board, to make sure they take notice. Link is in my sig.
Edit: Here's the link, in case people have sigs turned off, or just aren't seeing them because GS sometimes glitches that up.

I thought I noticed that happening, but then I paid more attention and noticed that it's not 100% I can't seem to find a pattern. Sometimes that seems to be the case, but I've definitely seen topic titles go back to white when there were no new posts, and stay gray when there were.
You don't! It's like a surprise but the posts are usually doodie so it's like no-no touch in forum form!
I had nearly 1000 posts and look what this new site did smh. I only stick around for System wars and OT these days
