And by replace, I mean get completely new ones? I've been using the same ones for a few years now. I wash them every 1-2 weeks.

Also, does anyone alternate sets of bed sheets, or do you just use the same set over and over?

Whenever one my parents happen to come home with a new set? My dad is a bargain hunter who likes to shop, so this can happen a handful of times a year. Sorry, I'm not at the point where I buy my own bed sheets :P

I've been using the same set for a couple of years now too. No need to replace them unless they rip or something, as long as you wash them regularly.

If they don't smell bad and aren't in bad shape then not until that happens.

Ever so often, it depends on how quick they get dirty.

When they have been used so much they disintegrate. Like... when you lay down in bed and you can see the mattress because the sheets no longer exist in some locations, then it is time to consider getting new ones. To stretch the life of sheets in this condition, you can lay newspaper in the areas where no sheet fabric exists. If you normally have a mate in the bed with you, and they don't like the crinkling noise the newspapers make, you can easily have them sleep somewhere else such as a couch, futon, or the floor.

Not sure. We have a large shipping box full of nothing but bedsheets, pillow cases, etc. We keep em so long as they're in good shape. I've never seen the wife use the same set very frequently. She might cycle through the whole boxful every year. She also buy new ones on a whim.

When you no longer know what the original color was supposed to be then you have surpassed the length of time they should be used. However, my Mighty Morph'n Power Rangers bed sheets from about 17 years ago are not bound by time. I only use them for special occasions and thus shall last forever! :P

You don't need to replace them unless they're ratty, ripping, or smell bad even after being washed. A good quality set can last for years.

I've had the same Pokemon sheets since I was 8. :D But I recently bought a new set that I won't be changing for at least 30 years. Since they cost me $250.

I have one set of sheets that I have been using for something like 15 years and they are still servicable. I did buy some new sheets this past year though and they should last as long if not longer than the 15 year old ones.

That's cause they tend to stain after I'm done with her.

I've had my current sheets for about 3-4 years, but I had the ones before them for a little over a decade. Wash them every couple of weeks. No alternate sets I swap out for.

Maybe every few years. I just bought some this year so I won't be buying anymore any time soon...unless they're on sale.

When the bedbugs start to hold free elections. If their society has advanced to that point it's time to go shopping.
