It will happen, for sure. The government is sugar-coating the situation just to prevent a panic. 16%
Likely to happen. The government is moderately sugar-coating the situation, 14%
Unlikely to happen. 38%
Will not happen. The government is not sugar-coating at all. 33%

Based on precise calculations originating from my anus, I believe the odds of an Ebola outbreak on American soil is approximately 1 in 481,569,018.

Just heard about a guy being quarantined in Westchester for coming into contact with someone who had Ebola. Oh yay.

Ebola wouldn't spread far in a First World country where all citizens had adequate access to healthcare.

In the United States, on the other hand, ...

Brilliant!

I am going to Africa on a college trip next year. South Africa though.

Doubt an outbreak will happen in the US, the one in Spain was only due to the wrong equipment and that has been contained already.

Unlikely. The US has decently high medical standards and hazmat procedures. If they suspect anyone is infected, they will be quarantined. And ebola can only be transmitted through fluid contact, so it can't spread through the air (unless you walk into someone's sneeze or drink their bloody vomit).

I'm thinking most likely not but it's still something I think about and fear of. Poster above said we had more money than the third world countries that are being plagued by it, so that's probably a decent point (even though american's in massive amounts of debt anyway.) hopefully we have enough still.
