How do you pronounce the GIF image format ?

Jif. Don't care about Graphics Interchange Format. It's jif.

"G" as in "Gift". Never made sense to me to use a "J". Especially since the "G" stands for "Graphic".

I call it 'Magic'.

In my entire life I have never heard it pronounced JIF until I saw the video posted above...for the 10 years I worked in computer programming (both at work and during my studies) every single person pronounced it GIF. Different experiences, I guess.

I say it like Gift without the t.

I pronounce it like, "Jif", the peanut butter.
