House of Cards season 3: Who's watching?

I checked OT's front page and the second one too and was surprised not to find a topic about that so decided to make my own.

So the new season of the political drama has premiered a couple of days ago. Who watched it? Thoughts? Personally I'm quite excited, too excited even. It seems I've developed a fascination for such political dramas through Homeland and House of Cards in particular. I mean I was glued to my laptop last night for the entire hour of the season premiere.

The new season looks as cutthroat as its antecedents. I was pleased to see that the creep douglas will be out of commission for a while. I also liked how they fast-forwarded to 6 months after Frank has taken office and how the presidency is a complete shipwreck. This ought to result in more intense and insidious political intrigue.

Come on OT I can't be the only fan around here. I only wish they'd drop that talking to the viewers BS already. It may have been a charming novelty at first but it has certainly overstayed its welcome and turned into a cringeworthy inanity.

I like it when Frank addresses the audience directly, and in fact it may play into how the show ends. That being said yes I am watching, but I have only made it through three episodes so far. I was sad to see that the main focus of the first episode was a character besides the Underwood's, because they are really the only characters (with the possible exception of Gavin) who are something other than chess pieces in the HoC world.

The following two episodes were quite good however.

I'm about 4 episodes in and liking it so far.

Saw the commercial for this show, looks dam good. But on Season 3 already ? I don't think i can catch up. Was the first two seasons worth watching ? Or can i start with Season 3 ?

I'm somewhere mid episode 6, gonna watch more today.

Interested in watching the original British series; it aired before my time and doesn't get re-runs.

Probably cheapo on amazon.

Finished it already. Not as good as previous seasons but still fantastic.
