Premiere isn't hard. It might be a bit overwhelming upon first viewing but it is a simple program to use. There are a of good tools i can advise but in the end the best way people find the one they like best is to give them all a try and see what works best with them.

Depends on a few things really, like how average the computer is, what you are trying to do, how many programs you have running along with it etc etc.

Ok, sounds good, one last question, and i'm out. Is it something i can just play around with and learn stuff, or do i have to go through dry tutorials to learn specifics?

THanks man

Bit of both really. Assuming you have the footage to back it up you can just play about with it and see what happens but if you are going for something really specific and complex then you'd need the tutorials.

Sony Vegas?  Probably takes some learning, but it's a great program.

Magix Movie Edit Pro looks like a cheap and popular choice.  only $30, but I've seen lots of good vids made from it.
