No, I'm not in high school(If someone here does that and is ACTUALLY GOOD at poetry, don't be offended, that's good then, an artist can always put good uses to their art, someone who isn't good at poetry and tries to bring good use to poetry is just a p_____y, sorry).

Me as well, I lack showing emotion(Except for anger and sadness, as well as minor happiness). I hated in English when they would try to get us to write poetry, that was never my style.

Disagreed wemhim. High school poetry writing is meant to convey feelings not artistic skill. The mere fact that someone put the effort into writing a poem about you is all that is needed. The poem itself doesn't have to be anything special. Think of it as karaoke, you don't have to be a good singer you just have to enjoy it.

If you're not willing to put effort into a poem for your gf then it's not worth giving her one at all. Your poem seriously doesn't have to be awesome it just has to be evident that you put a lot of loving care into it to try and make her happy.

It's not just lame dude it's a kick in the face. Do you think your gf will really believe it's yours? It's better to show that you give half a crap about her rather to show a piece of skilled poetry.

True...But I for example, am not cheezy bad...Just bad. i mean, you wouldn't even think it's a poem, you'd think it's a story that rhymes... I really can't write a poem.
Personally I don't think you have to give her any poem. If you're horrible like me and could never write a poem. I suggest you don't. Even if it shows you love her, it could remarkably horrible that it's hard to detect the emotion of love.

As far as Im concerned, all love poetry is cheezy. If you feel a certain way, just say it instead on inventing rhymes that obviously don't reflect how you truly feel. Seems forced.
