In your time here, have you changed your opinions on certain subjects due in part to the arguments(for or against) presented here? In areas such as religon, politics, social issues, scientific issues, etc etc. Discuss.

Probably.

And yes GS has been acting up today.

this place has made me a horrible person

I would imagine that if this place did influence me at all, it would be in a negative fashion.

Who can take a sunrise, sprinkle it with dew?
#10 Posted by SirWander (5176 posts) -

Not really. I don't post that often for there to have been any significant influence.

yeah, it's been more glitchy than usual.

I think its given me an insight on different perspectives on things at the very least.
#12 Posted by Aljosa23 (24605 posts) -

Nope.

OT influenced me to join FAU which exposed me to a lot of movies I wouldn't have otherwise seen, so in that regard yes.
#14 Posted by naju890_963 (8954 posts) -

No, not really.

#15 Posted by Nuck81 (5820 posts) -

The only opinion that off topic has changed of mine, is that people are generally dumber than I originally thought. There are some sad, lonely, individuals out there.

When I was younger and the only things I knew about homosexuals were from the intolerant people around me and TV, it shedded some light on them.
#17 Posted by JigglyWiggly_ (23416 posts) -

I wouldn't go that far but it did make me sick of the subject....

No, OT hasn't changed my views of the world, but it has been informative....

If I learned one thing from OT is to never take the internet seriously.......................

#27 Posted by Killzonage (408 posts) -
Can't say that it has.
#28 Posted by lo_Pine (5048 posts) -
No, I barely come here anymore because I realized there are really only like 5 people here who use different accounts. The only thing cool here is you can get some news earlier than they do on TV.
#29 Posted by OB-47 (10908 posts) -

Honestly I'm embarrased to say yes. Though generally the majority of debates are stupid there are some good ways of arguing a point here that I've probably been influenced by.

None of my beliefs have been challenged so far, so no.

This. Some of my favorite movies of all time I only became aware of due to the FAU.

No.

#38 Posted by Bane_09 (3394 posts) -

I live in a fairly homogenous part of the world so OT has been a way to see other's opinions on issues that I normally wouldn't get to see, especially users from other countries. I wouldn't say it's changed me really all that much but it has helped give me a bigger view of the world

#39 Posted by ShadowsDemon (10124 posts) -
In a slight way. I have a clearer understanding of different views and opinions, etc, but other than that HELL NO!
#40 Posted by WiiCubeM1 (4727 posts) -

It's only tempered my beliefs in many subjects, mostly religious.

#41 Posted by Shmiity (5010 posts) -

Uh, no. My views are my own. However, OT definitely helps feed my sociopathic desires. I love posting things just to see what people will say.

#42 Posted by N30F3N1X (7964 posts) -

Yes.

After enrolling in college and meeting some really great people, my idea of average human intelligence was delusionally high. I started lurking OT like a month later and I was brought back to realism. So many complete and utter imbeciles on this board, logic seems like a completely foreign and abstract concept. I wonder how the Founding Fathers would feel if they could see their great nation now.

#43 Posted by Allicrombie (25117 posts) -
yes, because of OT, I am now a kinder, gentler sociopath.
#44 Posted by wis3boi (31011 posts) -

It made me lose hope in our civilization

GameSpot at one time influenced my sense of humor. I admit, I am a less naively cheery person now, but other than that, I am the same exact person I would've likely been without GameSpot.
