I just watched it a couple of nights ago. I thought it was pretty cool, but the ending was weird.

It's a great movie, and one of Jack Nicholson's best performance.

Yes. I never really got much of it. It is kind of like "The Shining." You understand that the acting is superb, but the plot just never really tells you what is happening. I much pref erd Steven King's version of "The Shining."

What do you mean weird ending? I'll try to explain
McMurphey got a frontal lobotomy after trying to kill the nurse. What a lobotomy is is when they cut a piece out of the brain so it makes the person practically a vedgetable. The Chief thought that McMurphey would prefer to be dead than be a vegetable for the rest of his life so killed him and as a homage to him escaped how he planned to escape the first time.
Great movie!  I own it on DVD.

You should read the book if the ending was unclear.  The book helps flesh things out a hell of a lot better than the movie did, even though the movie does a good job of a pretty complex plot.

Wow, so...NickMag is the only one that read the book that this is based off of?  Fantastic movie, it goes a bit deeper than just Mental Health.
