Overcoming depression

Personally for me, the toughest thing I've done is give a presentation reading of a piece of paper in front of a class I was in.

If I ever had worse than minor surgery I would've listed that as my thing.

Math at the university. Sitting hours upon hours with one math problem and never figuring it out, damn that's hard!

Overcoming social anxiety/depression issues.

It took YEARS before I was able to get over myself and these dumb irrational fears I had.

Feels pretty amazing being over that hill though. Couldn't have imagined back then that I would be as happy with myself as I am now.

Leave my job.

Recovering from a serious panic attack and losing 35 pounds.

I have been fighting that clinical depression and an unstable thyroid for the past 6 years. Definitely the hardest thing I've had to do.

Admitting to myself I no longer believed in god. It was terrifying because of the brainwashing about hell that they put into you in Christian homes from an early age to keep you too scared to question the faith. Now the whole idea of hell just makes me chuckle. It's equatable to how a criminal will do something, and a child will witness it, and he will tell them that if they tell what he did, he will come back and kill his family. That child will then take YEARS to get over that absolute belief instilled in them from such a young age that this person WILL hurt them if they so much as even think to utter a word about it. It's just blackmail, do what I say, or I'll hurt you/ God will hurt you.SulIy
