Canadians have Canada Day? Interesting...

Beer, fireworks, parades. It's pretty much the 4th, but 3 days earlier and a different flag... Maybe less guns?

The feds regularly invest in Quebec to the point where other provinces get jelly. And Quebec'ers complain about Canada. Go and separate already

Separating would be stupid.

Thanks! I don't really do much to celebrate Canada Day. Today was spent working on school work since I have a lesson to give on Thursday, and two papers due Thursday, and a few chapters I need to read. This is a busy week.

Lots of stuff. Where I live, there's a parade, and everyone gathers downtown at the big park on the river where there's entertainment, games, bouncy castles, face painting, and lots of vendors. There's also a food fair with like two dozen different kinds of food. Since Canada is multicultural, you have everything from bannock (Native bread-type thing) booths to Chinese and Greek food. Lots of people have barbecues and do fireworks, the celebration at the park includes fireworks after dark. Some people spend the day at the beach or floating down the river, or having parties. I used to love going to the park as a kid but I just do not want to anymore, it's way too crowded and you can't find anywhere to park so I'd rather just stay home.

I still don't understand why everyone thinks all we have is bagged milk. I have never even SEEN bagged milk. I've only heard of it on the east coast.

Going to hike up a nearby mountain in the dark to get the best view of the fireworks tonight.

You guys don't have bagged milk out West? Weird.

Also, we have cartons as well. I buy those plastic carton things. I haven't used bagged milk since I was a kid.

Drinking some cabernet sauvignon from BC with the wife. Not sure if we will take our daughter to the fireworks tonight or not. We might just watch on TV so we can get her to bed at a reasonable hour.

We did sing the anthem with our daughter earlier while changing the flag on the porch to a new one, as we usually do on Canada Day.

And of course it was a BBQ night with some AAA Alberta beef. Yummy.

We splurge ourselves on maple syrup and Tim Hortons.

fireworks, alcohol, drugs, food, and good company.
