If you can't recognize that Merry Christmas has far more meaning than the religious one, I'm very sorry for you. I'm not religious at all, but I don't get offended when someone says that to me.
I view it as a nice greeting, a wish for peace, luck, friendship, humanity, something like that.
You being sarcastic?http://www.uexpress.com/dearabby/?uc_full_date=20121014[QUOTE="KingOfAsia"]

Several salespersons recently have ended our transaction by saying, "Have a blessed day." The last two times it happened, I stopped and asked, "What do you mean by that?" Both of them stammered and didn't know what to say.
One said, "I'm sort of religious." I replied that I'm atheist. I don't think these folks realize what they're saying. The next time it happens, I plan to respond by asking Zeus to bestow blessings upon them as well.
Why do people feel they have a right to force their religious beliefs on customers?
I actually was thinking differently and thought the issue would be about why atheists celebrate Xmas and all the bickering that commences.
so much mad detectedi fvcking hate this stupid political correctedness "Happy Holidays" sh!t.

It blows my mind that people are actually upset that firms are trying to maximize profits by using a greeting that is holiday-neutral and nonspecific. Morons like Bill O'Reilly have made this a yearly issue, and he actually thinks that the federal government should force businesses to celebrate Christmas because its a federal holiday. This is an invented controversy, and a shining example of a "first world problem".RhazaknaI don't think having greeters not say "Merry Christmas" "maximizes profits", I think most Americans actually prefer "Merry Christmas", though it's probably best for the stores to say both "Merry Christmas" and "Happy Holidays" and to let their employees use either or at their discretion.
That's perfect xD Also it's how the world works, I'm not religious it's a holiday, you don't have to take it as religious just have fun. I think it's more offensive when someone just HAS to have it their way and whine about something someone just says to try and be polite. They are simple meaningless words, you don't have to get butt hurt over them imo o3o. Now unless someone starts trying to shove it down your throat how you should go to church because it's christmas and blah blah blah that'd be different :POP's at it again, lmao

It's not spectacular (though it comes in different flavors), but it's festive. I remember as a kid, I used to have Eggnog at my uncle's on Thanksgiving and I think I put cinnamon in it. Hard to believe it, but Thanksgiving is exactly a week away! You Turkeys better run while you still got the chance, ya jive turkeys!I don't think having greeters not say "Merry Christmas" "maximizes profits", I think most Americans actually prefer "Merry Christmas", though it's probably best for the stores to say both "Merry Christmas" and "Happy Holidays" and to let their employees use either or at their discretion. Numerous firms are doing this themselves, and continuing the policy despite years of bad publicity on the O'Reilly Factor. It's not too outlandish to think that there's some monetary benefit to this policy. Even if it doesn't help profits, firms are devising and imposing these customs on themselves, with no force from government. No one should have any problem with what greeting firms use, and the fact that schmucks like O'Reilly have been making hay out of this for at least six years is just absurd.[QUOTE="Rhazakna"]It blows my mind that people are actually upset that firms are trying to maximize profits by using a greeting that is holiday-neutral and nonspecific.
