have u ever noticed that if some one says "whats ur hobby" and u answers...."er, i guess i play games alot"

... there response is" get a life" or "geek". however if u said you were a movie buff, they would be interested and think you were cool. BUT WAIT! games and movies are the same thing! they are forms of entertainment on a screen.

so why is gaming still seen as lame.....>_>.

Because they're people out there that have never played a single game before and believe a game is geeky by looking at screenshots or trailers.

That's just how it is sad to say. Gaming just isn't as accepted as being a film buff.

when someone says "whats ur hobby", i don't answe with "er, i guess i play games a lot"

gaming is seen as lame because some people spend hours each day playing video games, which limits chances to socialise.

I've almost never gotten any flack for gaming, probably because I've also mentioned other pastimes in the same sentence. It may take a decade or two, but I'm sure gaming will eventually become as accepted as the movies.

Yeah I noticed that. In the hobbies section of a CV, I dont generally think putting "computer games" is useful unless you apply to a gaming company/shop. People think you sit in your room for hours on end in the dark.

i get what ur saying. if i got asked what my hobby is i wouldent say gameing, becouse of streyo types. but to be honest, even if somebody watched movies all the time and limited there socialiseing, theyd probably be joked about, and not thought of as a geek.

( and i dont spend all my time gaming by the way lol)

I don't think it's as big of an issue as you make out. A lot of people like videogames, and people are generally more tolerant of it then they might have been years ago. It's bad press from games like WoW that make those who are uninformed consider gamers as social outcasts.
