Poll First Edition of 'Would you Rather...': Infinite MONEY or all the TIME you want? (18 votes)

Infinite MONEY! 61%
All the TIME I would ever want! 39%

This is the FIRST edition of a new segment I will be doing in OT once a week called 'Would You Rather...'

I think the concept speaks for itself. There are a set of options and you must choose which one you would prefer if ever given the opportunity. Today it is, clearly, Would You Rather... have infinite MONEY (and you can spend it however you please), or all the TIME you could ever want (you can use it however you please)?

Money. Infinite money would not only let me do whatever I want (travel, get a bigger house, get a new car) but would let me help everybody I could help with money. With infinite time I could work forever but would probably never make enough money to help so many people.

@Storm_Marine: @korvus:

EVERYONE IN THREAD: LOOK HERE

To further specify:

If you choose to have infinite MONEY, that means you will have an endless supply of money at your disposal. No limit whatsoever.

If you choose to have all the TIME you would ever want, that means you can choose to live however long you want. If you want to have 5 minutes of time, then you'll die in five minutes. If you choose 100 years worth of time, you'll live for another 100 years. If you choose 2,000 years, you'll have 2,000 years, and on and on. However, you cannot be immortal and choose infinite time. Luckily for you, you will age at a different rate. So the older you choose to live, the slower you age. The younger, the faster.

@Kevlar101: I stick to my choice =) But still, saying I want to live for 20.000 years doesn't necessarily mean I'll stay young and healthy so you didn't answer storm_marine's question.

EDIT: Ok, now you have ^_^

Success in the United States is based on how much money you have, and I live in the US, so therefore infinite money it is. Not to mention it makes life a lot easier.

@Kevlar101: Sorry, it was a joke. Your "I clarified the clarification to my question" reminded me of politicians' half-truths and how they keep things half explained so they have wiggle room when they screw up.

The money sounds good until you realize making huge sums of money come out of nowhere would wreck the financial system.

Extra time would help in some situations but I would eventually reach boredom. Infinite money would help all the time.

What's the use of living for 2,000 years when you have little money to live it properly? Infinite money please

Money would open up more opportunities for me. Sure, time would be appealing. At first. But think about it like this...a poor mountain man up in the mountains could live for 100 years, but he's still gonna be a hillbilly. Can't afford to go to college, can't afford to buy a private plane and flying lessons, can't afford to travel the world. Sure, it's still nice to live a long life. But without money to buy shit, you'll be living a long life without a hell of a lot of opportunity for advancement. Best case scenario, you jusrt become a very minor celebrity once the world finds out how long you've lived. Money is the better option. That allows you to actually DO things that you wouldn't have otherwise been able to do. Now, if the catch was that I had infinite money and was going to die within a week, then I'd choose the infinite life (and here I'm assuming that I can end that life if I please). but if i get infinite money AND I still get to live a natural life span, then I'm going with the money, easily. Let's also remember that our finite lifespans save us from misery and pain in many ways. There are things that an extended life will show me that I do not want to see. First and foremost is that I'm gonna have kids and then spend their entire lives knowing that I'm gonna end up watching them die. And **** that. I'd rather just have a natural life and then die before I get to watch everyone who I care about die first.

I'm going to be the odd man out and take infinite time. I want to live for thousands of years and witness humanity's bright future or utter destruction!

Endless in theory. In practice after a certain point that money would be worthless.

I choose money because I think it would suck outliving everyone you care for over and over. If I had infinite money, everyone I care for would be taken care for. I use to have this day dream of a magic wallet where it's always filled with money even after I spent it all. Every time I open the wallet there's always money lol.

I would pick money because I wouldn't have to work and therefore have plenty of time to enjoy life with the riches.

Money, what if I choose to be say 3000 years old and sometime in that course of time I've done all the living I can do, or I get unemployed and can't find work, thus I have to live on the streets and when I do get back on my feet it's working two jobs and menial pay for 1000 years? Money seems more safe.
