A federal judge has ruled that the Death Penalty as applied in California is unconstitutional, due to the uncertainty as to whether someone on death row will actually be executed or not. Most death row inmates in California prisons wind up dying long before they're executed due to a number of reasons, such as appeals and arbitrary selection. Hence, most of them are constantly stressed and anxious because they don't know when or if they'll ever be executed, which, in the opinion of the judge, constitutes cruel and unusual punishment.

I have to find a way to block you and others like you using Ad Block. You do not behave like an adult.

Says the guy who quit the website like a petulant child and is now back under a different name. Does it bother you that you're such a coward?

If they do it more, it won't be so unusual. :/

@emil_fontz: Clearly most of these know you under a different name so ill bite a bit.

This decision will of course be overturned on appeal so dont worry Cali wont be a new state without the DP.

I wonder why some people are actually ok with keeping the DP as long as the death of innocents(of the crime they will be killed over) stays under a certain number that isn't zero

Also I fear that people will try to stream line the process to kill the peeps as quickly as possible while losing a needed process of I guess it's called appeal stuff

I'm only in favor of the death penalty for people who aren't remorseful for what they did. Let those who are remorseful rot in prison, since that IMO is a fate worse than death.

Oh, I'm not. It's just a pretty convenient point of no tolerance.

So if we kill them faster it would be constitutional?

It's cheaper to keep them locked up forever with no chance of parole than it is to execute someone.

Do away with the death penalty, but promote self executions by those who otherwise would be on death row.

@thegerg: In multiple threads he's posted videos that have come from BRHD's Youtube channel. I've seen those videos and he doesn't have a lot of views. I find it hard to believe that some brand new face on OT has found BRHD's videos not long after BRHD rage quit the website.

He also posted that one thread asking for criticism about his writing which struck me as being remarkably similar to BRHD's thread asking about criticism of his videos.

So yeah, I'm fairly certain that this guy is BRHD's alt.

Ana looks super hot in that vid.

As for the ruling, I agree with it. Either kill the people, or don't, but don't say you will kill them, then don't..that got confusing, but you get it.

Would be great if the death penalty were completely abolished in the US.

Death penalties opponents look so small when the first point they bring up is the fact that keeping the human being alive is less expensive than executing him. Such an undignified argument.

Blu, you should ask an admin or something for your old account back. This whole charade is pretty transparent.

Which is sad, like justice and protecting human lives can be made up in $ .

Actually governments (and private organizations) constantly place value on human lives. You kind of have to in order to effectively operate.

It pretty much can be, considering a human life has been given a dollar amount

Well what's to be gained from killing them? The main argument I hear in favour of it is that we shouldn't have to pay to keep them alive, but like the others said it costs more to kill them.

@Master_Live: isn't that argument usually a response to people saying we shouldn't pay for people to relax in jail.

You should ask that to a supporter of the death penalty.
