Probably Edge of Tomorrow
Its up there.
Probably still pick Guardians even though I haven't watched many this year.
My favorite was "Edge of Tomorrow". "Guardians of the Galaxy" would be my second favorite.
"Lucy" was also a pleasant surprise, the premise was stupid but the film was pretty fun and enjoyable nonetheless.
I also thought "As Above, So Below" was also kind of cool, at parts, could have been better, but was a more creative and satisfying of the found footage horror movies that have released. By the plentiful cheesy awful cheap horror films on Netflix standards this movie is the creme de la creme.
Some lesser known flicks I really enjoyed would be "100 Foot Journey" and "Chef".
@SaintLeonidas: i heard Snowpiercer was good
A lot of people have said so for some reason, and I don't honestly get the hype myself, carrying a 95% on RottenTomatoes with 159 reviews. Something stinks, because the movie was not that good by any stretch. This movie is like one of those shitty movies that skips theaters and goes straight to Netflix... now, not saying it's utterly shitty. It was compelling enough to maybe finish... stress maybe. I'd put it down there with the lack of quality sci-fi titles like Pandorum. I dunno, some part of me thinks critics are being flowery and very forgiving to the Korean movie director Bong Joon-ho who made some good Korean films, like they had to pay homage with the review or whatever.

'Personally don't like so critics must be lying'...step down from your high horse pal.

I don't like really artsy or oscar bait movie's. This seemed like a good one though
The Poll doesn't have any of my favorite movies of this, and I go cinema 1 or 2 times per week.
My favorite is a toss up between Non Stop or Edge Of Tomorrow.
I also really enjoyed
Bad Neighbors
Lets Be Cops (almost like psych the movie)
The Quiet ones
3 Days to Kill
From what I've seen, The Winter Soldier is my favorite. But I did miss a lot of movies this year, though.
@lamprey263: Did you finish it? I couldn't =P
Yes, I did, rather reluctantly. I don't blame you for not seeing it through. It's refreshing to see someone who's not going to participate in that pretentious circle jerk.

Unfortunate you are so insecure that can't just not like something without trying to justify your opinion by making shit up about those you disagree with.
Hey guys you should see boyhood
Film is shit dave, stop pushing everyone to go see it.
To be honest, The Raid 2.
For the share sake that it's the one that I found the most entertaining, impressed me the most and that I would be excited to buy on DVD.
Still got to see that badboy

isn't it #2 on your list?

Movie was fucking AWESOME and is easily a contender for my number one spot. Definitely the best martial arts movie I have ever seen.
Really have a hard time deciding between Guardians, Apes, and The Raid.

normally, I can buy the "everybody has their opinion thing"... but there's limits

Quiet you.
Hate that I can't see the votes without voting first. How am I going to vote on a list where I haven't seen even half of the movies? =P
GotG actually surprised me by not being the usual Marvel trash, so that's my pick just because I don't go to the movies very often. Edge of Tomorrow was good but the ending ruined it for me. Like Korvus I haven't seen even half the movies on that list.
I want to see Snowpiercer but I hear the director's cut is far superior so I'll probably wait for the blu-ray.
I have to say I really enjoyed Xmen:DFOP. Edge of tomorrow and Winter Solder was awesome too. Gonna watch guardian of the galaxy this tuesday. Hope it lives up my expectations.

The theater and VOD release of 'Snowpiercer' is the director's cut.

just press others :P
Winter Soldier was probably my favorite. Others that were good were Xmen, Lego Movie, Sin City (seriously go see it if you were a fan of the original), and of course Guardians. Also check out Edge of Tomorrow and 22 Jump Street.
Winter Soldier was awesome, and The Lego Movie got me back into Lego... but Guardians of the Galaxy was incredible and had Thanos, so it's insta-win.
@Videodogg: I am just worried it might be a disappointment like the avengers. Seriously almost went to sleep while watching that movie.
