Loved Linking Park back in the day.Maybe some Metallica too. Also adored The Ronettes ,shit, still do, but the thing is that I do my best to keep away from them, 'cause their songs bring back some memories I wish I didn't have.

My fav artist these days are Gustavo Santaolalla and Normand Corbeil.Lorne Balfe is good too of course.

Yeah these topics come around often but I check them out as I'm always on the look out for more music. I prefer it when people give a good example track so I can see where they may be coming from, otherwise I got to dig in to each individual one and I can't always be arsed!

Currently... I loves

In This Moment

The Pretty Reckless

Sister Sin

and I can probably list a few more favorites in that genre of trashy rock sluts, which seems to be an obsession of mine. But also I like

The Naked and Famous

School of Seven Bells

MNDR

and a few other fluffy, wussy stuff I listen to in private. Birthday Massacre also one of my all time favorite bands along with Emilie Autumn.

All female vocals I know. So what? Can you live with that?!?

@foxhound_fox: 1. Black Sabbath is absolutely not doom metal. I understand they laid the foundation, but Sabbath is as much responsible for grunge rock as they are for extreme metal. I just refer to them as heavy metal or first-wave heavy metal.

2. Thank you for listing Venom as black metal.

Lolz. The classic teen girls taste. Assuming you are a girl. The Pretty Reckless are quite good, Katy Perry has some catchy grooves if she pays her song writing team enough.

But what evz.

You have an impressive appreciation of music mate. I salute you. But no love of AC/DC? Or Zeppelin?

I enjoy AC/DC when it comes on on the radio for a song. I used to think Led Zeppelin was the greatest band ever, then I started listening to older blues music and found a lot of their stuff is just ripped straight from there, lessening their greatness and becoming more of a blues cover band. While they have some great tunes, I think Pink Floyd (both the Syd Barrett- and Roger Waters-lead versions of the band) epitomizes that particular era of rock.

@XaosII: A few goodies there, some I not heard before. I liked Chumley's Toy will look at more from them. The 69 chambers track was alright, mix of dropped heavy vocals and female vocals that are not overly angelic. Never been a fan of that very specific genre where it has the guy doing growling and the girls going opera (such as nightwish).

Dharma was cool will check them out and I had not heard of Drain ST.H and the sample track you linked they sound like something i'll like. Some I've heard of before and I like them. Icon for Hire never been a fan of, plus I know music videos isn't a good way to judge a band but their drummer gets a little too into the track, always makes me laugh!

By the way it's not that I only like female vocals is just the topic being favorites, I tend to favor them, more reflective of me I suppose. As much as metalcore's alright, to me it's more of a scene thing, as in, I prefer it to be playing live or in clubs but not direct in my headphones.

Can't say I'd have to stretch to agree with you. Pink Floyd are in a leauge of their own. I personally think 'Shine On Your Crazy Diamond' is an un touchable piece of music. As are many other PF classics. Amazing band.
