Well I'm currently started reading again and I'm starting to read Brian Jacques "The Long Patrol". But I would say Brian Jacques, and Tom Clancy are my favorite authors. And my favorite book would be Mattimeo by Brian Jacques. What's yours?

My favourite classic author of all time is Dickens, trite but I love him sooo much, ditto Michael Crichton as my contemporary choice. I love of their writing styles beyond words and they are so different from each other I can't choose between them. They tie for first.

My favourite book is 'Three Men In A Boat (To Say Nothing Of The Dog)' by Jerome K. Jerome.

Book: The Count of Monte Cristo

Author: I don't really have a favorite. I enjoy Alexandre Dumas and Murakami Haruki, but I don't know. I can't decide. J.K. Rowling gets a thumbs for the Harry Potter series though.

I'd be done with that one if I hadn't started reading A Song of Ice and Fire. Big mistake since those book are huge.

Don't got any favorite author I believe.

Favorite book? That would be the Bartimaeus trilogy, I am really digging it. I prefer lighthearted fantasy stuff. It's written by a dude named Jonathan Stroud or something and it's about an arrogant magician kid that summons the sarcastic and four thousand year old djinn Bartimaeus.

Oh oh and I got another one:

Lian Hearns books about the Otori clan! They are great too.

And another great trilogy is from a swedish author is a fantasy book about norse mythology and vikings.

My favorite book is House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. I also love the companion piece to this novel, the album Haunted by Poe (Mark's sister).

I'm having a lot of trouble deciding on this one, so I'll do what a couple other people did and divide it into modern and classic to avoid a tough choice. =P Toni Morrison is my favorite modern author and Beloved my favorite modern book. Going back a ways, as much as I respect Faulkner and Joyce, I have to give it to The Count of Monte Cristo by Dumas. I've read the book multiple times and it's never taken me more than 3 or four days. It just sucks me in and doesn't let me go until I finish it. I absolutely love it.

The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind! Definitely a very long read since all the books are a minimum of 600+ pages, but very much worth it!
