Since OT is going through the "Talk about your relationships" phase, I thought it would be fitting if I asked.......Ever been to Prom??
If you have, please tell us all the juicy details. ;)

For what we have that are the closest thing to prom it was a complete waste of time. For some reason the teachers decided that a small group of students should decide who pairs up with who. Of course that ends up with whoever was a friend of that small group(who of course all were friends) get their wish when it comes to partner, and the rest got f*****. Went with a girl that I didn't know, barely said hello. Luckily she was only my partner for the dance(s) we had to do.
Yea. I went with a girl I was talking to at school and asked her out during prom. She was my first real gf and it was my senior year her junior. After I graduated we seperated and the new girl I was dating was still in high school at a different school so I went to a prom again.
Yeah, four times.
First time I was a junior in high school and at that time we just had "junior prom" separate from "senior prom". Went with a friend. The day after was comical. A bunch of us guys all planned to go down to a theme park (Hershey Park). When we arrived, the park was closed to a private party. Who closes theme parks for a whole day anyway??
Second time was senior prom. Went with a girl I only met once prior, otherwise I would've went stag. It was okay, nothing crazy happened.
Third and fourth time I was already out of high school and dating a girl that was still in school. So I went with her to both her proms.
@indzman: basically it's just excuse for girls to get expensive dresses and make their guy dress up in tux and dance. Goto a dinner. We also had after prom which was trip hosted by school and we went to amusement park the next day.some people rent limos and almost treat it like a wedding.

Not for those who are shy and with no friends lol.
I went my freshmen, junior and senior year.
For my freshmen year I manned up and asked a cute little Mexican foreign exchange student senior by the name of Paulina. We had a good time but afterwards she wanted to go out to eat with her folks but I chose getting trashed with my friends instead.
My junior and senior year I went with friends and both of them had BF issues at the time and so they were complete buzz kills. It still didn't stop me from getting trashed afterwards.
Nope. Could have went, had a date and everything, but I was too much of a pussy to go through with it. Well the lack of a job and car really didn't help give me motivation either. Sort of wish I could go back and change that even if I care little for parties and gatherings...
My prom was well over 5 years ago but no I did not go. My Junior year I skipped prom and went to a party instead. My senior year the school scheduled prom at the exact same time as our important national band competition in Chicago, I obviously went to that instead.
Nah, junior year didn't really think about going and senior year it was the same night as a Bruce Springsteen concert so that was an easy choice.

yup yup
@tocool340: I couldn't drive either. We went with my gfs friend and her date. He couldn't drive as well. Lol her friend drive us all in her little ford escort while she was all dressed up and in heels.
We dont really have proms in the UK in general but our school did hold a dinner and dance which I attended with my g/f at the time. Then we went out and got drunk.
I actually miss the pressure of finding "a date". The excitement, nerves and anticipation. Trying to work out the one you really want to take. The nervous energy every time you initiated a conversation with a girl. I hated it at the time but looking back puberty rocked. Interestingly I was more better and more confident with women at school than I have been in a long term relationship. Now I find myself intentionally stopping relationships with women from growing because I dont wish to be in love with more than one. Which can happen!
@always_explicit: Funnily enough, ever since I got married I'm a lot more relaxed talking to women. I've always been unintentionally "sweet and flirty" which was confusing for girls sometimes but now between the ring on my finger and me gushing about my wife I can just be myself without them getting ideas.
