Do you guys have any embarrassing health problems?

It is 6:37am where I am. I am awake because I had a gout attack. I've been having gout attacks for the past couple of years. It is affected by bad diet and or genes. The crappy thing is, I don't have a bad diet, but the second I eat a lot and/or drink alcohol, I am prone to an attack. My ankle, big toe, or pinky joints may swell up and become painful and tender.....*sigh*

This is embarrassing as well: I used to get pretty bad acne on my butt, but that has stopped happening. But honestly, I'd rather get acne on my ass than be unable to walk and look like I'm trying to walk like a zombie from Walking Dead.

Sometimes I get intense pain in my penis in sleep , so damn intense that it wakes me up in the middle of the night ,and keeps me up for about half an hour before letting me fall asleep again.I don't know the cause ,and I can't tell anyone about it :(

Dude, that sounds horrible as hell. Embarrassing or not, you should tell your doctor about that. You shouldn't live your life having problems with your D. What if it's a simple fix?

Yeah ... you're right.I haven't had the nightmarish pain in the past month , nevertheless, I've had up to here with it.Next time the pain hits , I'll definitely visit a doctor.

Thanks for encouraging me.

Let's see. Everytime I get on an elevator, I always seem to have the urge to fart. Or walking from the campus to the parking lot with a lot of students around me. It's frustrating having to hold it until I'm clear.

I had a similar thing, but then with my balls. You should always immediately contact your doctor. Doctors won't judge you for it, they're professionals after all. Besides your doctor no one else needs to know if you feel that ashamed about it.

@deeliman: Now that you mention it, I've had pain in my balls too, when walking for a period of 30 minutes or longer. That's relatively long ago, (maybe a couple of years ago) but maybe there's connection between that, and damn penis pain that I suffer some nights.

Next any pain hits my B-D (ball-dick! ) I swear I'll go to a doctor.

Thanks.

I tend to sweat a lot, and it sometimes gets embarrassing with visible pit stains.

Wear cotton clothes.Avoid polyester at all costs.Sweat all you want, you won't need to be embarrassed no more. That's the solution I give you my word.

I have a white, 100% cotton shirt ,which I wear on very fancy occasions. At these times it's easy to sweat due to shyness and such, but I've always failed to find the smallest stain of sweat on the shirt.

I had gout, but after learning about what I had and what was causing it I've been able to manage it. Usually I just need to drink more fluids and take anti-inflammatory medicine and I'm good. And I've avoided gout medication because of ulcer risks and I love spicy foods and I'd hate to risk an ulcer so instead I try to get a lot of vitamin C which is supposed to help manage gout.

My boner doesn't work.

But seriously...When I was in high school it was discovered during a sports phyiscal exam that I had a congenital hernia that caused a hydrocele. Basically, one of the abdominal cavities from which your testes descend when you're a baby never closed (the hernia), allowing fluid to move from my abdomen to my scrotum (the hydrocele). By the time I had the surgery, my left nutt was the size of a tennis ball.

Thank you. Now my balls hurt.

Speaking of hernia, when I was 19 years old, I was lifting a fire safe and tore open the abdominal cavity on my right side, causing my guts to start passing through it and down into my sack. They called it an inguinal hernia. Such a pleasant experience.

Surprisingly, it never was painful. I think they found it when I was a freshman and I didn't have the surgery until two days after graduation (commencement), so it was a slow-to-build process. Hell, I wrestled, played golf, and baseball all 4 years of HS without any trouble from it.

There's a trainer at my gym, and older guy that's old school, who had an inguinal hernia from weight lifting. He had that thing for almost a decade before finally having surgery. He used to wrap duct-tape around his upper thigh when he'd squat or deadlift.

*cringe*

They told me that while it wasn't currently a huge issue, down the road if my intestines twisted up because of it, I would be in a world of hurt. Plus, it made daily occurrences unpleasant; coughing, sneezing, etc. I think you get the picture.

Having to hold my guts in while going to the bathroom got old really quick.

@lonewolf604: Try to cut down on eating meat, specially red meat. Alcohol as well... Eat healthy and your problem will ease down a bit. Also, go to a doctor.. he's gonna give you a drug called colchicine. It's used to prevent your gout attacks. Go to a doctor!

@elkoldo: @deeliman please don't wait till the pain hits. I don't want to scare you or anything, but sudden testicular pain is usually a testicular torsion. This pain can wake you up at night. Your spermatic cord twists around itself and stops blood flow from flowing to your testicles. This is an emergency procedure, and usually happens a lot in children. It has a risk of having your testicle infarcted. If you have sudden pain in your testicles, don't wait. If the torsion is not fixed in 6 hours, your testicular tissue will die and they will have to remove your testicle. If the pain comes and goes, it might seems like it twists and untwist in your sleep or something. Please visit your doctor.

They will probably do an ultrasound on your testicles, and your doctor will fix you up so you don't get it again.

@Shottayouth13-: Hyperhydrosis. Do you have it all over your body or is it localized to a certain area, like your armpits, groin etc..? Anyways, go to a dermatologist, they gonna prescibe you a medical anti presperiant. Or try to find a product which has Aluminium Hydroxide. It might cause you skin irritation. I have the very same problem. If your sweating doesn't go away with these products and your problem is localized, then you might need a botox injection. Try not to be anxious or stressed out a lot. Enjoy yourself and you won't sweat as much!

@osirisx3: your diet is mainly carbohydrates, try to google search which foods you should ease on eating. Also, do you get diarrhea eating diary products? if yes then you might be lactose intolerant. Although I will not assume you do.

@Master_Live: yes
@Ryagan: yes! there is a lot of reasons for urinary incontinence. If you have pain in your flanks or change in urine color, it might be a urinary tract infection or a kidney stone. If not, it might be something else. Are you a diabetic? Anyways, visit a urologist! It could also be a caused by your depression. clinical depression is serious, visit a specialist and try to fix it. Clinical depression can seriously affect your life choices, friends, and overall quality of life. The faster you deal with your problems the happier you will be in the long run.

Tennis ball nut guy reminded me of probably the only actually embarrassing health problem I've ever had. This is gross and obviously TMI.

A couple years ago, I got a Bartholin's gland cyst. Do not google that, you'll be very sorry. It's basically a blocked gland in the lady parts region. I thought it was just an ingrown hair at first but it kept growing, so I figured then it must be a spider bite. Nope.

I thought it would go away but it got to the size of a medium sized marble before I couldn't sit down anymore because it caused me too much pain. Ended up sterilizing a sewing needle on the stove and lancing it myself. Between putting ice on it to numb it and squeezing all the pus and liquid out of it, it probably took me a solid two hours to deflate the thing. It never actually occurred to me to go to the hospital.

The problem is, i am healthy. I had one night of eating and drinking with my cousins birthday. I'm already taking indomethacin.

Luckily I do not suffer from any embarrassing disease. I did have some back acne in my teen years which I was a bit ashamed going to the pool or beach but it's not really a problem anymore. It's very light and very little now and I really could care less about it these days when I go to the beach or pool.

UCTD. A genetic disorder I've had since birth. Resulted in some pretty noticeable deformities in my feet.

It mainly affected my self-esteem as a youth, but I learned to get over it.
