Lucky???? But it dropped him. :| Obviously the kid was mistaken for a hobbit. Gandalf wouldn't be proud.

Edit: also the music is perfect lol

Didn't know eagles could lift something that heavy.

I just watched it on the news. There are people who doubt its authenticity though.

What are they doubting exactly? Do they claim that the eagle is trained for example or it didn't happen lol

They claim that the parent didn' t act surprised so the vid could be fake.

Fake in what terms exactly? Still they were mostly in shock so that's why they didn't look "surprised".

Well it's not everyday an eagle swoops down to fly away with a child :P

When such extraordinary occurrences happen out of the blue like that, people often don't know to react in that first instant. And I'd also imagine that the number of people who actually own a trained eagle as a pet would be exceedingly rare (I'd like to believe it's not fake, cause you'd have to be pretty messed up to pull a stunt like that...).

If that had been a Golden Eagle, he would have already been picked up and dropped from a hundred feet.

saw that earlier, the child is lucky the eagle wasn't able to carry it higher before dropping it

See parents, this is what you get for dressing your infants like small animals.

I think that child would have been too heavy to carry off.
#27 Posted by Nuck81 (5839 posts) -
Pretty obviously a fake. Pop in Shadows, The Bird's not an Eagle, it's an Osprey, and it's the biggest Osprey ever to be able to pick up a 10-15 pound kid.

lol even if it was fake kid was small enough prey

guns don't kill people, eagles kill people.
#32 Posted by soldyoursold (164 posts) -
I used to read about eagles in the library in elementary school lol get books on em but deer is one of their prey items. so if they could kill a baby beer they could easily kill a little kid,

I guess this confirms it was a fake. Got the link from the New York Daily News.

every now and then you'll hear about an eagle or some other sort of raptor picking up a dog or cat or something that weighs close to a small human, but damn...this is the first time I've heard of an actual person being picked up.

"It has been a busy week in Canada for weird animal antics. The eagle video comes days after photographs surfaced of a monkey wearing a sheepskin coat wandering around the parking lot of a Toronto IKEA."

So are you telling me that the monkey from the news was fake too? :( It cannot be fake....it should not be fake.

I've always wondered if that has ever happened. I mean they can grab small deer, dogs, cats and things like that.
