Of all the complaints and everything is there no chance of DBZ season one getting release in the original format? cause im thinkin about buyin season one and i dont want them to change there mind out of nowhere. also i read somewhere that some dvd players can ant crop it and switch it to full screen somehow. is this true? what should i do i really wanna watch some DBZ.

Sorry. I think you should just go ahead and buy it. Better yet, why not just try to get ahold of the Japanese version of the first saga? It may be subbed, but at least its the original!
Personally, I don't think they are ever going to go back and spend money to redo the first saga. DBZ simply isn't in high demand anymore.
Well more than likely funimation won't release the 4:3 master of the show, and stick with the 16:9 version. Thats because they already have the whole series "remastered" in 16:9. Well you got a few options though. Buy the edited english versions,the dragon box singles *japanese only remember*, bootlegs, get most of season on the ultimate uncut editions crap, or download it somehow. *i don't condone downloading in anyway. So don't delete the post* Though i will say this, the season 1 set isn't bad. People say theres dirt and crap, but thats because the original film wasn't great back then, so of course isn't perfect. Once you get past the widescreen, the japanese credits are the exact same as episode 1 *which is wrong*, and the opening is creditless, this actually is a nice and cheap set.
I have it, what's wrong with it? It's uncut has english and japanese dialougue and music. I've heard about the "cropping" but it seems fine to me.the_leet_kid
Probably the big thing about is the widescreen. They are cropping "basically cutting off" some of the top and bottom but adding some image on the left and right. You see parts where a characters head is cut off? Thats to do with the widescreen. The show was animated for 4:3, meaning the stuff you gain in 16:9 widescreen isn't more important. Besides that, there really isn't any problem.
