Not the first time they've tried something like this in Toronto.

Both times under Neo-con rule. It appears they don't like the current government.

Those clever terrorists, they know that Americans would get more angry if you attacked their hat!

Yes because the government is totally a determining factor here.

I believe they were targetting a train heading from Canada to the US. Even if there was just one american on it, that's ok for terrorists. They really dont care who else gets killed as long as it makes the news.

I don't know why they'd attack our trains. Given how neglected they are I'm not sure anyone would notice.

No, more like ...

Canadian Security Apparatus: +1

Israel: +1

Canadian Citizens: -1

Canadian authorities cooperated with the United States' FBI, which has a long and storied history of intercepting "terrorist plots" that proved to be sting operations initiated by the FBI itself and, conveniently enough, this plot was discovered when it was in its "planning stage" and "not imminent".

This has "SETUP" scrawled all over it.

And how convenient that there's an Iranian link!

Never mind that the only significant Sunni terrorist group operating in Iran is the Mujahideen-e-Khalq, a group that the US recently removed from its list of terrorist groups so that Western countries could fund it and use it as a proxy against the Iranian government. Canadians will still be expected to believe that the Shiite Iranian government is trying to deploy Sunni terrorists against their country.

It would appear that, when Israel drags the US into war with Iran, Canada will be going along for the ride ...

I'm safe from any descent into madness because my tinfoil hat protects my brain from the government's mind-altering radiation. :P

Seriously, though, do you think that Canada wouldn't be expected to commit troops to a NATO war against Iran? And do you think the Canadian government wouldn't rely on incidents like this one to win the Canadian public's support for such a commitment?

It's called "manufacturing consent".

Canadians are immune to that. We're too apathetic for it to work. Like more time was spent on talking about floods than this on the news and Iran wasn't mentioned once.
