Does this piss anybody else off?

I cannot STAND it when I come across a message on a board, and the simplest words are misspelled, no punctuation, no grammar whatsoever. I don`t care about typos or anything like that, everybody has that happen, and I`m not asking for college grade grammar, but when I come across a message like this:

ZOMFG!11 what is dat i dont no wat that is tehweredest ting!!1!1!1!!!!,

I`m gonna be pissed off. And yes, I have seen real messages like that, on this very forum. I even got into a troll war once with somebody who was in college (or so he said) that couldn`t even spell "cousin".

If you don`t have enough courtesy to post something READABLE, then get the hell off the computer and start reading an English book. Or at least use the spell check button.

Like I said, it doesn`t have to surpass a professors, but make your message readable.

Does it piss me off? Probably not, but it does get rather annoying. There's a reason why we take English and grammar classes in school, And in most instances it bothers me that people cant simply type "you" instead of "u". Now abbreviations such as brb, or ftw, or omfg, etc. These I can live with, its quicker to say and in most cases the best way to tell someone to STFU.

But its one of those things that will never change, so ranting and trolling about it isn't going to help the situation on any level. In the end people will post the way they want to, and there isn't a thing we can do about it. 

Why does it matter? I type like that because its just easier, I can type properly if I choose too.JRoss17

Not really. But whenever I see posts like that, I don't take them very seriously. Experience has taught me that people who unintentionally type like idiots are usually idiots. That sterotype has yet to be disproven...

Incidentally, to the original poster, my sister graded college level English papers as part of her post-secondary duties, and told me that people can still have an incredibly poor grasp of English even at the college level - to the point where their 'essays' border on unintelligible. So that guy you trolled may well have been in college.

It simply drives me nuts. If that`s the way people type, it`s probably the way they speak, too.

I used to type like that on msn because everyone I talked to typed like that. So when I joined forums nobody spoke like that, so obviously I didn't want to come across as an idiot and type like a moron, a great thing is that typing properly all the time is improving your grammar and spelling :) So there are people who talk lik dis, but I think soon they will  'grow out'  of it, once they realise nobody else types like an idiot.Brainkiller05

Hopefully you`re right, but if watch the news, you`d see that there are people that just blow your ideas about intelligence out of the water.
