I dont necessarily "believe" in karma as such, but i think about 90% of the nice or good-natured things i do are motivated by me wanting to avoid bad stuff happening to me. I dont think that me doing something wrong or cruel will result in a direct consequence, for example, but i like to think that having a bad week or being in a bad situation is usually the result of my own actions, which in a round about way, is sort of the same thing as karma.

The moodiest, saddest people i'm aware of are mostly jerks in their day-to-day lives, and i think there's a reason for that. :P

I often joke about karma. For instance when me and a friend intentionally do something bad we see what type of "punishment" we get. Generally it's rain, so I don't see karma as a big factor in my life.

Not at all. I'm nice for no greater reason than being nice, and mean for no greater reason than selfishness.

It's actually quite likely that they are jerks because they are sad and moody rather than the other way around. I tend to be sad and moody, but I seclude myself from everyone else too much to be a jerk.

I dont meant it as a statement of fact, really. I said "mostly" but that probably wasn't the best way to phrase it. I dont mean to say that everyone who's down on their luck is a jerk, by any means, just that in many cases in my life at least, people i know who are unhappy or take little enjoyment out of life aren't the most pleasant or good-natured of individuals.

No. I don't believe in karma, so the only thing that affects my decisions are my own feelings of morality.

Not the actual concept, but obviously if you are nice to others, it's likely they will be nice to you as well.

Kind of.. I have always thought of Karma in the same sense of the Golden Rule, treat others as you wish to be treated.. So I would say that Karma has a strong impact on how I interact with others..

Sort of. I don't believe in karma in the sense of the universe itself punishing or rewarding you for your deeds, but I certainly believe in karma in that the attitude and treatment you give to others tends to be returned in kind.

Yeah, this has always been my view of things; no big cosmic force is required for things to work this way.

On a side note, some believers in karma can get very agitating. For example, my car was stolen but I haven't done anything bad recently. They always try and make karma the reason for everything.

Yeah that's what i mean; i don't believe in karma in a religious or universal sense, just that my attitude and behaviour will generally affect the attitudes and behaviour of others toward me.

Yeah, I find the cosmic sense of karma to be borderline offensive, really, especially when one believes that one is being punished in this life for things one did in a past life - that just doesn't sit right with me at all.

No, not really. :? Some people's actions aren't motivated at all by their desire for others to treat them in a similar way.

Not making a decision, but I'd be lying if it didn't cross my mind once a month or so.
