hey im watching breaking bad and its pretty interesting. its just that it's kinda getting annoying now. i just finished watching episode 2 of season 3. whats killing it for me is the wife parts. i seriously just can't stand the woman shes such a b1ch lol. i feel like going up and smacking my t.v. when shes on.

*spoilers*

she knows he had cancer, she knows that they are in a financial crisis, he admitted everything and did it all for his family, for her in the first place. the guy just had a kid and she forbade (is that a word lol?) him to see her. hell she even helps the guy she works for commit fraud or whatever. and after all that he went through, she goes and bangs another dude. it seems like lately they've been focusing on her way more.

oh and the plane crash thing i thought was kinda ridiculous too.

im just wondering is it worth it to continue watching? i enjoy the show but i don't know why man i just get so pissed when i see her lol. do they ever go back to walt and jesse and their awesomeness? this miserable woman crap is infuriating me lol i dunno.

oh and if you guys have any other shows to recommend plz do. my favourite show is game of thrones but i watched all of it and im looking for a new show to get into. breaking bad is just depression after depression.

It takes good writing and acting to get someone that pissed about a character.

And yes the wife is an annoying b!tch.

Breaking Bad only gets better and better. Also your description of Walter White is so wrong, trust me. Keep on watching the show and sooner or later Skyler will be the one you start feeling sympathy for.

I thought that the end of season 2 and the start of season 3 was kind of the low point for the series. It definitely gets better.

I sometimes don't understand how people can side with Walt all the time. Skylar is suppose to portray a realistic house-wife stance, while Walt slowly decays into a power hungry madman. Its all a grey area really.
#6 Posted by DharmaMember77 (2377 posts) -

Skylar remains a huge part of the show from here on in. Also there are quite a few "ridicioulous" moments like the plane crash such as the end of season 4.

And she's ugly.. in a subtle way. The more I look at her, the more I think she's an alien.

I think she's kinda justified. I mean she found her husband is a big meth dealer, has probably killed people, and just all around doesn't feel safe around him.

People just want to defend Walt for some reason, he's a pretty awful guy.

I disagree. All of this drug sh*t could have been avoided if he took the money offered by his old friend (the one Walt co-foundered that company with), but his pride got in the way, and on top of that he got greedy, because although he had more than enough money for his family and his cancer treatment, he kept producing drugs. His wife did get annoying at times, but she's probably the most sensible character on the show.

In a real life situation, we would all side with Skylar , obviously. But since Walt is such an amazing character, we hate her for screwing with him. Hell, even the actress knows why she's hated (the character, not the actress.)

I like Skylar ;o

Yes. Anyway, Skyler knows that Walt is doing it for the family. She also knows, however, that her family is being put at risk (from Gus, the cartel, and the law). Walt has lied to her multiple times and, in turn, she has to lie to her own family (hank and Marie) and the government.

Of all the main characters on the show Walt is probably the least sympathetic. Certainly it was easy to feel sympathy for him at the start of the show's run, but overtime he's revealed himself to be a ginormous dick. Just finished up season 4 (on Netflix, don't have cable) and I thought that ...
Jesse sided with the wrong guy. In fact, considering how much Walt has berated, insulted and disrespected him, I can't figure why Jesse still stuck his neck out for Walt.
I think Jesse sees Walt as the one consistent and stable player in his life. Walt has, of course, also stuck his neck out for Jesse. I wouldn't go as far as to say that it's a father-son type of relationship, but Walt has, at times, shown what I feel is honest concern for Jesse as more than a business partner.

I lost interest in Breaking Bad after they started to go too over the top with it. The first season is the best by far, the rest are okay.

Yeah that season ended with a bang.

:P

The wait for the second part of Season 5 is killing me!

:(

Yeah it gets better. Season 4 is absolutely great.

#19 Posted by Renevent42 (5277 posts) -

She is totally justified...saying "I did it for the family!" does not excuse the lying and, you know, becoming a freaking meth cook lol.  If I ever pulled something like that on my wife she'd never let it go either.

Breaking Bad is amazing from the very second it starts. If you aren't digging it, maybe the show isn't for you.

Yeah. I could understand that it might take a person a few episodes to get into a show, but if you're into the third season and still ain't digging it...

what was too over the top? one of the things i like about it is that it doesnt do that at all

The last 2 episodes of Season 3 may be the best in the series.

I think Season 3 is the best, but many like Season 4 even better. Its close.

it just gets better and better, best show I've ever watched.

The first season is the worst.....yet its still excellent. Just not as good as the others.

The last 2 episodes of Season 1 are the high point of that season.

Breaking Bad has been great from the start up to to the end of the first half of the 5th season. <3 Breaking Bad

And also I think the hate Skyler gets is ridiculous.

What he said. There is no way the first season is the best. Jesse's character is a one-dimensional bimbo, it's tonally all over the place, the visual style isn't established, and Tuco is so over-the-top as a villain to take seriously.
#32 Posted by Nuck81 (5856 posts) -
It's a lot like the Battlestar Galactica Reboot. A great episode followed by a few duds. But they dangle enough carrots to keep you coming back for more.

"God, Skyler is such a b*tch. Why can't she just let her husband cook meth and constantly put their family in danger without her being so angry about it?"

Walt going from likable guy to a d!ck is the entire point of the series, Hence the title Breaking Bad which means to deviate from whats right.

Was Tuco even meant to be taken seriously? I thought the whole point of his character was to be unstable and completely unpredictable.

I had no confusion, nor stated it, but I know how you do love to pick arguments.

#41 Posted by Pirate700 (46465 posts) -

the point of skyler is to be the character that everyone hates.

an enemy.

its not that complicated.

coolbeans90

That's always what I assumed. She's supposed to be abrasive and disliked for standing up against Walt.

#42 Posted by Necrifer (10629 posts) -

We just wanna see Walt do Walt things, but Skyler's always saying nasty things to the poor guy.

#43 Posted by Sajo7 (14049 posts) -
At least initially she is annoying to help make us understand how Walter came to make his crappy decisions.
#44 Posted by DJ-Lafleur (34149 posts) -

I never found Skyler that annoying, or atleast not as annoying as people make her out to be. I've always thought how she acted was pretty justified.

That is how I feel, I find her annoying, but I always see where she is coming from as a character. The rest of the main cast does the same thing.
#46 Posted by sammyjenkis898 (28097 posts) -

That's why people hate on her. God forbid she acts rationally to her husband's actions. How dare she cheat on her husband who makes meth! It's not like Skyler is alone in the hatred for television women, though. The misogyny goes back to the days of The Sopranos. Most anti-heroes' women get unfairly trashed.

I agree.

It seems pretty reasonable with the situations that Walt gets into while having a family to care for.

She's extremely reasonable. I think most people would react the way she does. For the purpose of the show though, she's supposed to be disliked for standing in Walt's way.
