does anyone actually care about those video game artbooks?

Sorry, I know this is game related but it can be a broader topic as well. In all these video game "collector's editions" they include these 30-50 page artbooks with concept art of what the characters look like in the game.. they're kind of a joke to be honest. but what does everyone think about these things? do you collect them?

I think they're nice as preorder bonuses, but I would never buy a limited edition with that simply included.

I only have two limited editions..

1) Demon's soul it came with a strategy guide, CD, and artbook for only $10 more - so I was like WTH.

2) Catherine, came with some boxers, CD, artbook, pillow case, and came with a $20 gift card - so I was like WTH.

I wouldn't pay $80 for those COD limited editions, or their silly $149 editions.

Yeah, they're pointless. Most special editions of games are.

Limited Editions of games are pretty silly, but those books can be quite good. Especially for the well crafted universes.

I actually think they're cool. I like looking at concept art.

That said, I'd never actually buy something like that. But if someone were to give me such a book for free, I wouldn't complain.

Depends on the game. Especially if I like the art.

Only have 2 limited or collector's edition of games,

GT5 (Came with APEX, a huge tuning guide and in-game cars), only $10 more than original, great price for game and huge book.

Beyond: Two Souls (same price as normal edition so its a no brainer) 30min extra gameplay, soundtrack, bunch of avatars and themes, artwork and the least expected thing, and awesome case, its a steel-book case with what looks to be airbrushed artwork on the case. You just have to see it in person.

I do at times. I would more if I had dived deeper into collecting video game related items, which I might do sometime in the future.

They are interesting especially to someone who likes either art or video game design. They aren't good for a whole lot, but they still are very interesting.

The video game art books are for people who care about how the art style of the game was created before it was put into the game. I believe that they do this to show the extra art they created that wasn't put into the game. Its a great collectors item to have, and would be a treasure to keep to your heart, because it was created by someone who really loved doing what they do.

Depends on the game, the price, and what comes in the collector's editions.

Though I do own actual video game art books, specifically the Dark Souls Design Works and the Hyrule Historia. I recommend both.
