Do you think I'll do ok with skipping a few nights of sleep?

I waited till the last minute to work on my exam and html homework, now if I want to get an A on both, I think I am gonna skip sleep until I turn in my assignments and finish my exam. I work at Walmart pushing carts and I dont think my lack sleep would effect my work too much. I never get sleepy once I start working.

So I'll probably stay awake till the third at 10 pm or until my homework is done.

My classes are online, so I wont be falling a sleep in a class.

Yeah, unless you stand still in your work you won't fall asleep.

That doesn't sound very efficient. Why not just call in sick to work instead?

i guess you do what you have to do to find time for your homework. however, tests are always just remembering facts and showing an understanding of the subject. if you've gone to most of your classes and taken notes, you should have already laid the groundwork for that. just refresh yourself by looking over your notes for a little bit, but make sure to get 6+ hours of sleep right before the test so your mind is fresh.

I'd advice you to at the very least take some power naps once in awhile, such as between a hour to 3 hours sleep. Otherwise the quality of your assignment is going to suffer.

@dave123321: Speak for yourself, I've gotten 95's or higher on final exams with no sleep.

If your brain needs to sleep, it will go to sleep. Period. There's no getting around this, unless you take drugs. People on Meth can stay awake for days.

A few nights does not seem feasible to me. In my experience, if I've been well rested for the past several days then I can only go as much as about 33-36 hours before I start blanking out. I think you would do better just getting 4ish hours per night until you finish everything and maybe call in sick for work if possible.

You're going to feel like shit dude. I've missed a day of sleep and the next day I was spacing out, having cold sweats and couldn't concentrate on anything. Sleep is the most important thing besides water that the human body needs. I really think it's a dumb idea.

Also if you're trying to sleep on the day before your class, there is a guarantee that you won't be waking up until way after you want to wake up. Happens to me all the time when I miss a day of sleep and try to sleep normally the next day. I'd sleep at 10pm wanting to wake up at 8am and I end up sleeping until 11am. You will sleep past your alarm clock. Some people don't have this problem though, some can wake up and feel like they've slept for days. I can't though. I don't think it's worth the risk.

Not for your health, but if you think you have to. All you need to do in the future is get your priorities straight.

I freak out when I get close to an exam so I put lots of time into studying, and actually just did an exam a couple days ago, and came away with a 99.6%. So far 1 year in college, and I've got a 3.92 gpa. I really don't want to screw it up.

PS: Sure pushing carts around is easy, and maybe you haven't been getting tired before, but after 2 or 3 days of no rest dude you probably will.(I've tried it before, between work, and family problems(not going to get into specifics) I didn't really have any time to sleep, and just trust me it is a terrible idea, and when I finally got to go to sleep I was actually having a hard time falling asleep.)

I called in today. There was too much snow on the ground. I live in the woods, so I'll call in again tomorrow.

Yay snow!
