So do you? I do, and from my experiences there's only a few items you can't buy generic like...

Velveeta cheese

I always try and get the cheaper of the choices when I can, but if it tastes awful or even just a little then I go back to the more spensive stuff.

Yeah I usually buy store brand if there's no noticeable difference in quality.

I don't mind the generic store brand imitation Velveeta, hell some part of me thinks Velveeta actually makes it, back when I worked at the grocery store I actually learned that much of the store brand items are actually made by the people that make the name brand stuff, they just make the other seemingly generic stuff because customers are drawn to variety.

Yeah it's pretty good, but I think it's the lack of fat. There's just something different.

I'm not certain if the generic stuff is made by Velveta or not, but I do recall once looking at the ingredients and nutrition once and the only difference was like 10 calories.

most store branded stuff in my experience is of a distinctly higher quality than national brands. their vanilla wafers are loads better than the keebler sort. popcorn is much better as well. the only thing that falls short is their version of doritos. they are gritty as cuss. strangely, i get the impression that these bad chips are among their most popular of imitations. i have also had some strawberry preserves that have not been so great.

I buy only generic drugs, aspirin, and the like.

But I buy Cheerios because the store brands are awful.

So I guess it really depends on the taste when it comes to food.

You are asking like I actually have a choice. Of course I do. Its cheaper. Thankfully most store brand products here aren't that bad.
