Lets talk about options here for the Democrats of this forum.

Who would you prefer to run on your party ticket? (Feel free to throw out some names, even though I'll provide some prominent rising stats within the party); Tulsi Gabbard, Keith Ellison, Bernie (Again?), Tim Canova etc.

As a registered democrat, I want Kanye. Not for 2020, but 2024. I will personally push him through the primaries.

Deval Patrick seems like a good choice. He wrote the blueprint for obama.

Meanwhile Bill claims to be a libertarian while he's a been a democrat shill for a decade. How exactly is he going to run as a libertarian when he's donated millions towards promoting big government?

Or is he just going to come out and admit that he was pretending to be a libertarian so he wouldn't come across as a partisan hack? The dude and his fans couldn't be any more confused IMO

I just know my views on issues are quite a bit similar to his, irrespective of political labels. Sure, Bill Maher is probably as full of himself as Donald Trump, but he's a sharp guy and quite capable of succeeding as a politician in my opinion.

I'm still a registered democrat.

Kanye 2020.

We need a true kang in office.

Elizabeth Warren would also be nice, but needs more backbone and not be such a DINO. Next up is Bernie Sanders, who really doesn't have backbone.... like, at all. The entire democratic establishment can go to hell. :)

Bernie Sanders would be too old for sure to run in 2020.

Not a big fan of Kanye either. Besides I think he wants to run as a Republican anyways, though I could be wrong.

Elizabeth Warren might be good.

Not a Democrat but Tulsi Gabbard, Kirsten Gillibrand, Sherrod Brown, Kamala Harris, and Elizabeth Warren would all be solid picks. Gavin Newsom in 2024 or 2028. That dude is awesome but he will be California's next governor first.

Yeah, that is the main issue with Sanders. He was already pushing it. But now it will be too late. I think it is best he just keeps leading his political revolution from behind the scenes.

I hope Elizabeth Warren gets to run. Hopefully that will show the democratic establishment, that we are not sexist. People didnt dislike Hillary because she was a woman. People disliked her because she was a terrible candidate who was openly fraudulent. She lost any remaining credibility she had once her statement of being two-faced got leaked.

If they do the smart thing they'd find a new charismatic candidate that isn't tied to current politics.

I'm surprised by all the Elizabeth Warren replies. Kind of surprising since she endorsed Hilary on the campaign trail and sold herself out.

She didn't support anyone until after the primaries were over. She was going to support whichever Democrat was in the general election, so I don't see how she sold herself out.

She didn't endorse Hilary on the campaign trial? Ok:

This was during the primary. The Superdelegates didn't vote yet. On top of that she didn't even endorse Bernie during her state's primary which could've greatly helped him.

She was in talks about being VP with Hilary, she dodged Bernie, she endorsed Hilary. She is by definition a sellout.

Elizabeth Warren endorsed the biggest criminal in politics since Richard Nixon. Come on Democrats, really?

I was feeling the Bern too, but my only issue with him in 2020 will be his age, other then that, he's still my boy. The thing I really like about him was how he broke down Capitalism to the young people and the fact that his politics have been consistent for decades.

Its just silly that the Democrats would vote like that right after what just happened. Meh its better for us, the longer the right seizes power the better.

Seems like they still don't understand that establishment choices don't work anymore.

It'll happen again. They'll find another insane reason to blame (russian hacking) instead of themselves again.

Rooted in the leftist ideology is finding blame for other systems or individuals to explain one's own incompetence (May it be capitalism, business, police, etc.)

It has to do with renown and other factors.

  • Bernie is getting too old.
  • Tulsi isnt well known enough.
  • Keith Ellison is probably going to lead the DNC.

By all means, in an ideal world, Elizabeth Warren would not be the main pick.

- Yes

- Tulsi has 4 years to change that, she isn't running now

- Keith Ellison will lead the DNC

- You guys are also overlooking Tim Canova.

If anything wouldn't the Democrats want Warren in the senate? Probably more useful there especially with Republicans running everything no?

2. I prefer basing it on contemporary information. Elizabeth could eshew her ties with the establishment in 4 years as well. The best way to predict the future is to base it on trends, and information we have today.

3. The chairmanship election has already been held? What were the results?

4. Tim Canova is great. I will give you that much.

2. I think her endorsement of Hilary made her lose appeal among the electorate tbh, but yes she has 4 years.

3. Its honestly an assumption, but it seems Ellison will most likely lead it considering the direction the Democratic Party is trying to go.

Ahh good. But I agree. Ellison will most likely lead it. He is afterall, the clear favorite.

But you never know these days. Not with how the Democratic establishment has been acting.

Edit: regardless. I think the ideal situation here is Keith winning and Tim Canova getting the democratic nomination.

That's because they are basically Republicans themselves that have used the smoke screen of social regressive rhetoric to cover up what they have been doing.. I wish people so concerned on environmental policy with Trump would have actually paid attention to the Obama administration for instance.. Recent report basically showed that their entire policy and EPA was being heavily influenced by fracking industries.. I guess you can just say that your pro environment, and that means its ok to basically do what Republicans have been wanting to do..

To his credit he said he would from the beginning, and through him he at least publically shifted the Democrat platform under Hillary more left.. Now do I think Clinton would actually have followed it? Hell no.. But if he were not to endorse her and oppose her.. We would basically see what Teddy Roosevelt did when he founded the Bullmoose party.. Leading to both him and Taft's loss anyways because they split the vote.. Sanders is but one man and is a old man with not much time left in his political career.. And unlike Clinton or Warren, he hasn't disappeared into the scenes, he is spearheading the Trump and Republican criticism, and general government criticism in general..

Sadly, that is true.

And because we didnt support a corrupt woman who represents everything wrong with politics. Appearantly that makes us sexist and racist pigs. Even funnier is when a chunk of these people then supported Jill Stein... a woman.

Democrats need to focus more on what the people want and less on victimhood narratives from here on out.
