Countries that have banned/censored the simpsons, south park and family guy

Russia, China, Cuba, Vietnam, Laos, North Korea, South Korea, Italy, Germany, Japan,

Singapore, Mexico, Australia, Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Somalia,

India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Israel, Palestine, Syria, Libya, Chile, Venezuela, etc.

While not required by the government every channel thats aired The Simpsons in the UK has decided to censor it because they think it's a kids show so anything that isn't suitable for babies is cut out. Really pisses me off, especially since the cuts are so lazily done.

Hmmm, I live in Mexico and none of those shows is censored nor banned.

How's the weather down there?

@n64dd: where I live windy and rainy, temps in the mid 80's , it's the rainy season, but when the skies clear it gets HOT ( 90's - 100's ).

I remember reading an internet article that said that Mexico censored/banned individual episodes of the Simpsons, South Park and Family Guy that mocked Mexico/Mexicans.

Italy, Germany, Japan, Australia!!! I would not have thought so. The others sure. What the hell, so called reasonable countries? And Toast Burner says the UK censors the Simpsons!!?? I will have to rethink my ideas about these countries. Maybe our American humor is just lost in translation?

@samanthademeste: none that I'm aware of, actually right now there's an even more mexican mocking series called "Bordertown" which, for people with sensitive and thin skin, can be a lot more insulting towards mexicans or mexican/americans and it airs freely.

My show!!! lol! But the show pokes more fun at the "build a wall" conservatives than it does at actual Mexican/Mexican Americans. Really funny too but it ended up getting cancelled after one season. Would be great if it got picked up somewhere else.....

All three shows run in both Germany and Italy. In fact they even have their own dubbings. Don't know about Japan and Australia.

@N30F3N1X: Italy, Germany and Japan do censor the fascist/Nazi jokes about Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini and Emperor Hirohito. Australia has censored/banned individual episodes as well.

Not surprised, most of those countries are terrible 3rd world countries. The first world ones listed commited massive slavery and genocide.

@GTR12: don't listen to the obvious troll. Anyway I came back to say that I remember we also have censored foreign cartoons (dbz 4kidz and the like).

good to see free expression doing so well in these countries. A bunch of suits, given a position, decide to censor things other people create, because they cannot do anything worthwhile themselves, to protect people. They dont seem to realize that bullshit is a cancer, and they are it's curator.
