Considering a trip to Austin, Texas in May. Any advice?

I would like to visit after receiving my yearly bonus in April. Has anybody been before or currently live there?

From what I have read it seems like an interesting place with lots to see and do with a nice amount of live music to keep me amused in the evenings. I think I would visit for two weeks in the middle of may is this a sensible time to visit?

I only have sales brochures and trip advisor to go on Im just trying to get some first hand opinions from you guys if possible!!

been there a few times for work. it's a college town ( UT ) so there are a ton of young people around. 6th street is cool as there's a lot of bars down there and they close the street down on weekend nights.

@always_explicit: most us universities typically finish mid-late may time for their spring semesters.
