Condoleezza rice golfs, hits spectator with a golf ball

Condoleezza Rice (the secretary of state, not to be confused with Susan Rice who was just an ambassador) was golfing and she ended up accidentally hitting some lady in the nose with the ball:

Did I hit you? Rice asked, quickly reaching the woman, whose nose was gashed and bleeding. It was a bad shot. Im really sorry.

Poor lady, pretty funny though.

According to the article, Rice is one of only 2 women amateurs playing in the tournament. I think Rice is also the first (and so far only) black woman to be secretary of state.

Stick to politics, old woman. Golf is too complex of a game for your feeble, feminine mind.

I guess Condi handled the situation rather well:

Rice knelt, handed the womans daughter a white towel to stanch the bleeding and held the womans right hand until first-aid personnel arrived. Before she headed to the green, she asked the daughter to call her with an update on her mothers condition. Rices assistant, who was walking outside the ropes, slipped the daughter a piece of paper after Rice left.

Rices game was never the same. She kept lifting up on her woods and irons, and her caddie, Kathryn Imrie, the assistant womens golf coach at Stanford, where Rice teaches, spent more time adjusting her setup.
