Anyone here collect things ?  I like to collect a bunch of stuff like coins, books, guns, swords, etc.  Love historical coins and my oldest one is probably a Julius Ceasar denarius from way back :P.

i did stuff like that for years then realized i had a house full of dust gathering crap.

i have been on a minimalist kick for the last decade.

if it's not something to  eat or use on a daily basis i just don't bring it in the house anymore.

I have a bunch of silver coins (mostly American coins as well "illegal" Syrian coins and some Ottoman coins). old paper money (mostly from the 60s through 80s; and a $10 silver certificate dating back from the 1930s), and a good amount of foreign coins such as Francs, Euros, Armenian, Soviet, and etc.

Nice, my collection probably isn't as big as yours. I have quite a few ancient Romans though. Have some old Nazi coins too which are quite interesting. Also many american silvers from mid to late 1900s.

Out of curiousity, what are those Roman coins made out of?

I started collecting old military surplus weapons. Especially rifles, old ones. So far the oldest I have is from 1914. I want some civil war era rifles/muskets. That would be great.

Most are coppers or bronze but I do have two silvers. Would love to have a golden aureus.

I used to have some nazi memorabilia and even used to have a document signed by General Walther von Brauchitsch who was executed for war crimes in 1948, also had a Walter PPK that was taken off a captured German soldier during the battle of the bulge but I sold the whole lot to my dads mate who is an absolute fanatic of Nazi war items and he had far more stuff than I ever had, in fact I had like 5% of the stuff he had and my stuff was filling a whole room. His house got raided a few years ago by the police and he had 23 unauthorised firearms that weren't deactivated and I think it caused a massive investigation that spread all the way to Switzerland for illegal gun trading.

I collect video games.  Here's my current set up.

The early pictures aren't really consolidated because they are the most recent purchases I've made.

^damn, that's a pretty impressive collection.

as for myself, i collect comics and books. haven't got too much bc of financial restrictions, but i hope to keep expanding my stock so that one day i can share my collection with my loved ones--specifically, my future wife and children.

i think that's the best part of collecting something--sharing it with others.

Sweet game collection, arkephonic.  I could have an awesome game collection too but as a kid I got in the habit of selling off my games as I beat them :(.  Still have a lot of NES and N64 games though :P.

Thanks.  When Gamestop came around, I literally sold every single thing I had.  All my NES, SNES, Genesis, 64, Saturn, PS1, Gamecube, Xbox, PS2, Game Boy/Advance/DS, PSP stuff, just gone.  Hundreds of games, many different consoles.  It wasn't until a few years ago when I stopped selling, but I used to be the same way, after I played it, I'd get rid of it.  Sometimes I wouldn't even play or finish the game being sold.  A big reason that I started collecting was I told myself I'd never sell games away again because I realized how badly I was getting screwed in the deal (particularly with Gamestop, I know Ebay and Craigslist are good options).  I wish I had all that old stuff back, but gotta learn from mistakes eventually.

k2theswiss

Thanks.  It looks like a power strip but it's actually a Belkin surge protector.  I live up on a mountain where weather can get pretty intense, so everything I own that plugs into an outlet goes through a surge protector.
