Ok I am doing a project in Biology and we have to do a cell analogy project. My partner really wants to do a mac computer. I don't know much about macs. I thought I knew a decent amount about computers until I started this project. I need to take the parts of a cell and make an analogy to a Mac computer... Please help? Here are the parts and their definitions:
Cell wall: out side the plasma membrane, supporting layer of a cell.
nuclear membrane/envelope: surrounds the nucleus and seperates nucleus from the cytoplasm.
Nucleus: Inside the nuclear membrane, controls many of the cells activities.
Nucleolus: inside the nucleus, where the assembly of ribosomes begins.
Ribosome: found throughout the cytoplasm, site of ____ production (sorry I didn't fill that ____ in on the worksheet)!
Cytoplasm: clear gelatinous fluid, holds organelles in place, diffusion meduim.
Endoplasmic reticulum: inside the Eukaryotic cell, where the lipid compunds of the cell membrane are assembled.
Golgi Apparatus: flattened sacs of tubular membrane, modify sort and package protiens.
Vacule: sacs; usually in animals or they are very small; very large in plants, storage.
Lysosomes: sacs that contain digestive enzymes, break things down.
Chloroplasts: green, capture light, contain chlorophyll, captures energy from the sun and converts it.
Mitochondria: have double membrane (inner and outer), provides energy to things without chloroplasts.
Centrioles: occurs in pairs, organizes cell division.
Cilia: short numerous hair like structures, motion.
Flagella: few long whip like structures, motion.
Thanks!
