I heard so much about Cannibal Holocuast about it being sick, dark and the most shocking movie ever which is why it was banned in tons of countries. So I got my hopes up that it would be good. I finally watched it uncut last night and ... I was dissappointed. Really there is no need for this movie to be censored or banned. Nothing was shocking about it that isn't in movies we see out today in the mainstream, The gore/death scenes were chessy, and the real animal killings was nothing differnt than what all hunters do. The only animal that suffers is the muskrate. From what I heard people saying about this was like the animals were tortured to death. I hope someone remakes this movie and makes it better. Though most of the rape scenes were hot.
August Underground's Mordum still holds on as the sickest movie but still could have been better.
i was hoping it was going to be more about his later life when he was in the US.:( sadly it was about his earlier years. EDIT: lol misread title, I thought it was about Cannibal rising. But Canibal holocost was crazy. There was definately some twited thinking going into that. I didn't enjoy it.

I kind of agree. It felt like a big let down after all the talk about how sick and gruesome it is. But then again, I've seen so many movies like that so they've kind of lost their appeal to me. However in my opinion, Cannibal Holocaust has a really fantastic soundtrack.

close. but its a modernized verison of Sadi Marquis De Sade's story. Supposably the actors really did have to eat real poo in it. Looks real. I heard that the feces they eat in Saló was actually a mix of chocolate and orange marmelade. :P

Whops, Sorry. Of course I was just joking :wink: But yeah, that cat scene fron Men Behind the Sun really stuck into me... Most likely since there's been so much talk about whether it's real or not, and nobody seems to know for sure. Oh and about the Guine Pig-series. Flowers Of Flesh and Blood would've been pretty good if they hadn't used those terrible sound effects when the guy cuts the girl into pieces. That kind of ruined the atmosphere of the movie for me. :/

I haven't seen a deer get skinned or gutted because there's no reason for me to do so. I can understand doing so for survival but killing some random animal for a movie just for shock value is pretty damn sick.

I haven't seen a deer get skinned or gutted because there's no reason for me to do so. But they did cook and eat the turtle, so they didn't really kill it just for fun. Sure someone would argue that actually filming the killing is going too far, even if they intend to eat it, but in the end that's what exploitation flicks are about.

Actually, Jonathan Hensleigh, Director of The Punisher (2004) is supposed to make what is supposed to he a modern take of Cannibal Holocaust. I guess it was controversial for it's time (between the animal killings and the fact that the director was hauled into court to prove that one of the actresses in the film wasn't killed in real life).
