So if you are not on the ebook train yet do you buy more bookshelves and hoard your books do you make room on your shelf via donations?

I've got a one bedroom apartment and I have been donating books to make space as well as giving others the chance to read books that would otherwise be collecting dust.

i sold almost all my books not counting things i could not stand to part with and first editions.

then i used the money to add to my ebook collection.

that shit has been an albatross around my neck for decades.

every time i moved or whatever i had to deal with literally thousands of pounds of books.

i may never buy another paper book again.

Depends on how much you like the books you have, and if you can afford the shelves. I generally would not donate most of my books, I get sentimental attachments to my things, but there are some school books I have that the bookstore either wouldn't take back or wouldn't give me much money for that are taking up a lot of space in my closet that I would like to donate.

@Riverwolf007: @whipassmt:

Oh yeah there are definitely some editions of books that I won't be parting with. I mean that's why you put the extra bucks towards special editions after all.

I'm a hoarder for books and video games. So far I would buy another shelf.

One bedroom apartment? For one person or two?

If two, get rid of some books. I made the mistake of thinking I could collect books after moving into an apartment 220 sq ft smaller than my previous one... and now most of my books are in tubs in the basement storage locker.
