today i rented borat from bloackbuster and when i opened the case i think it is a burnt copy. i was just wondering if they are even allowed to do that or does the borat movie just look like it was a burnt copy.

no they are not allowed to do that. however, after having worked ata video store, i can say that people return some weird stuff instead of the actual movie and try and get away with it
The same thing happened to me. Although, now that I hear that it's happened to some one else I'm pretty sure thar they intentionally made it look like a burnt/pirated copy. Hopefully some one who owns the DVD can clear things up.
