Hey guys, what musical pieces do you feel create a very scary/creepy atmosphere?

While studying recently, I'm listengin to the theme of "Day of the Dead", the score of the film is absolutely superb and the theme really gives me the chills.

Video or not, 12-tone is creepy as sin.

A term which I first heard used to describe the minute mark of this song. That song counts, as well. As does much of that score.

Well what do you expect? Creepy/scary music to a calm and soothing background?

Actual creepy music, regardless of videos. There is music that doesn't have a "music video." >_>

Yes I know, but majority of the time the music has a video to go with it.

I guess it has more merit that way, that way all the creepiness comes from the music not by the images.

Well if you're looking for at least what I'd call haunted house style creepy Abigail Williams is excellent at creating that atmosphere. Especially on their full length release In The Shadow Of A Thousand Suns

Anybody watch the Battlestar Galactica miniseries? Gibbs' score is a lot more unsettling than McCreary's. Especially towards the 2 minute mark. THE song I alwaysskip when listening to the score.

EDIT - Forgot the link.

The Penitent from Eternal Darkness soundtrack (I suggest listening to it entirely)

It starts with an eerie cult-like music, which eventually leads to full-fledged scary sounds and then ending with a haunting atmospheric sound.

12 tone music is not really that "creepy". Wozzeck is creepy (even though not 12-tone), but mainly for the plot. Crumb's Black Angels is creepy though, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5a2RXA2Jn8 Especially during the quotation of Schubert's String Quartet #14 in d minor "Death and the maiden"
