Wow, Jarhead was terrible. Black Hawk Down should be put on the list in place of that movie.hokies1313
I see people say that alot, I liked it because it reminded me of the best parts from full metal jacket mixed with the thin red line. Just because its a war movie, doesnt mean there needs to be constant action like in black hawk down. Jarhead was about the psychological and emotional connections between soldiers in a war where very often nothing much happens. For that I applaud it for not dumbing down for the mainstream audiences.
[QUOTE="Lto_thaG"][QUOTE="czort666"]I'm surprised no one said "Saving private Ryan"Film-Guy
Saving private ryan counts i think, it came out in 2000 unless I am much mistaken. Though I do think saving private ryan is one of the most overrated films of all time.

I liked it too, just not alot.
It got a little cheesy toward the end, but overall it's the only Antoine Fuqua movie I can tolerate.
Best war movie PERIOD (along with Apocalypse Now).A_Tarkovsky
Ah yes, a true underrated gem. I havent seen that movie in a few years, I have it on DVD somewhere. Came out in 1998 though so it doesnt count unfortunatly. Theres got to be some others you like from our decade.

If Saving Private Ryan from the same year counts, then this one does too.[QUOTE="Film-Guy"][QUOTE="-TheSecondSign-"]I can't believe I am the only one who liked Tears of the Sun.A_Tarkovsky

"COWBOY *$&% UP!"
was awesome.

If Saving Private Ryan from the same year counts, then this one does too.Saving private ryan doesnt count though, I thought it came out in 2000 for some reason. Turns out it was 1998. Thin red line is a great movie though, shame many people dont have the attention span for it.
You mean recent war movies, right? Sorry, I got confused when I saw WW2 movies on your list..
Well I would have to say Jarhead, Saving Private Ryan and the Pianist. I still need to see Letters to Iwo Jima.
Oh, and COD4.....oh wait, that was a game :| Still like a movie though.....

That was one of the most unintentionally funny movie I have ever seen. Almost as funny as the wicker man remake.

Ok?Yeah I'm ok, how about you?
lol, I just didn't see what was so funny about Windtalkers. It had good action and that's what matters to me.

I just thought it had really cheesy dialogue and the action was way to unrealistic it was almost like a cartoon.
