No, I am almost certain that is incorrect. Yes, Venom did name the genre, but they are not the sole creators of black metal. I think Bathory themselves said that they did their own thing and even though they are from the same time period, claim that they started the real black metal sound before Venom.
Not possible. Nevermore comes from the US. I was mainly talking about the overflow of generic metalcore and nu-metal. Of course bands like Death, Cynic, Agalloch or Sculptured will have my respect but there's so much horrible crap these days that I feel it is the worst.

Yea Venom's early albums were pretty much "Thrash" with darker lyrics. Although they still played an influential role.

Yeah, Venom was mostly thrash metal. They had some Black Metal elements to their music, but Bathory was much more focused on the actual Black Metal aspect.
