I personally found Return of the KIng to be the best, espcially as it was the most action packed and had the best climax. What about you? The same can go for the books if you want.FantasyTwisted
To my view it is impossible to seperate any one from the whole (both in regards to the book and the film).

True, but some are better in different ways of course.I've always been most fond of The Two Towers. Honestly though, all three are so excellent that it is difficult to distinguish them in terms of quality. Cube_of_MooN
Exactly this. Also, where have you been?

What do you mean? The Two Towers was my personal favorite, but it's really a tough call to choose a favorite since they were all so spectacular. :)

I get it. They're all good. The ultimate fantasy series.I've always been most fond of The Two Towers. Honestly though, all three are so excellent that it is difficult to distinguish them in terms of quality. Cube_of_MooNpretty much my opinion as well
I haven't seen any of the LotR movies...mike_me...dude, go out right now and buy all three installments. Unless you have a problem withshort people with latex feet.

exactly it is one story interwoven, however if I had to pick a specific movie I like best I would pick Return of the King Extended edition. But all the movies were phenomenal. You definitely should. Although th ROTK is like 4 hours long.I like The Two Towers the best I think, or at least it is the one I've seen the most times.
I should really sit down and watch all 3 of my extended editions this weekend on my new couch. Break it in, you know.

I'd have to fall into this category as well. Watching the people hold down the fort was exciting, but asking to separate a piece from the whole is difficult.[QUOTE="Atmanix"]You definitely should. All together I think the extended editions are like... 11 hours before extras?

I've never watched all of them together. Although that 11 hours would be an epic way to spend you day on your new couch....dude, go out right now and buy all three installments. The Fellowship of the Ring.
It had better pacing than the other two (especially The Return of the King); it took its time.
Also, scenes like the Prologue and the Bridge of Khazad-Dum (Gandalf vs Balrog) make it stand out for me.

Bridge of Khazad-Dum is probably my favorite scene in the entire series.
