am I the only one who cant stand the old classic comics like batman, superman and spiderman. superman is cheap, only kryptonite kills him, which of course is so easy to find. The only good batman I have read si frank millers version, and spider man is just dumb to me. I like more modern comics like the darkness, stephen kings dark tower comic, the walking dead etc.

I just like comics that are well written. Don't really care where they are from, though most of my favorites come from America.

I really do like the deep kind of US comics, but manga has more variety.

There seems to be a lack of differentiation both market/audience wise and genre wise in the west. It's not surprising that industry is on the way down (for the most part). Give me more than the odd break from spandex clad superheroes (ok, there are some, but even those have been largely unsucessful). There is some great talent in that industry, but it really needs to take a step back and laugh at itself every now and then.

I don't think that their country of origin determines how funny they are.

I don't know any Japanese comedians. Dennis Leary and Bill Hicks are my favourites, so I'll go with American.

I don't mind the mangas. I usually enjoy the American versions a little more. Batman and Superman: Absolute Power FTW.

Definitely the great American comic. I went through a manga phase when I was 13 (im now 20 and back to comics :D ) but then I realised that most of it is perverted trash and the artwork is garbage. Not many people know this but the original model for the manga girl was Betty Boop. That's why today all the female manga/anime characters look so retarded, with humongous eyes etc. DC comics = God (especially Bats  )
