Post some of your favourite guitar/bass solo's or one of the greatest in music history, preferably live and not studio music.

My Favourites...

Pink Floyd - Echoes

Pink Floyd - Comfortably numb Version 1, Version 2.

Pink Floyd - High Hopes

Pink Floyd's solo's always bring a tear to my eyes.

Metallica - Master Of Puppets.[Solo starts 3:31. Ends 4:44]

Metallica -Nothing Else Matters.[Solo Starts 5:00. Ends 5:56.]

Metallica - Bass solo + Orion solo [Watch the whole goddamn vid.]

Some of the best in Thrash Metal history.

Buckethead - Soothsayer

Buckethead - Big Sur Moon

Buckethead - Big Sur Jowls

These are not hands....

Sitra - Nevermore. This band is practicaly unknown and i don't know if they have any other songs but i only found this one and its really good.

Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing [Watch the whole goddamn vid.]

Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms[Solo starts 5:23. Ends when the video ends]

His Guitar can be happy and sad, depending on D.S Mood & song.

Dream Theater - Stream Of Consciouness

Dreams can come true and this is one of them.

Joe Satriani - Surfing with the alien.

Insane!

There are many many other more great solo's that deserve a mention, but if i wanted to state many of them, then this thread would be pointless for you to post in so, post, share and hopefully we'll get to know more bands we didn't know about and finally, listen to more great talent! This thread is also a dedication for the great talent and art every great band has.:)

Discuss, share.

Comfortably Numb and Money by Pink Floyd are great. Also their solo like 17 minutes into Echoes, especially at Pompeii, is amazing.

Stevie Ray Vaughn destroys everything here, sorry.

That man is God of the guitar, end of story.

Another beautiful solo though that alot of people won't know has to be Mea Culpa by the Human Abstract (Starts at 1:58).

Paul Gilbert - Technical Difficulties

John Petrucci - Glasgow Kiss

LikeHaterade

Those are 3 of my favorite guitar players, Steve Vai being number one. Good choices of songs, I was going to post almost the same so I'll post a few others

Steve Vai - For The Love of God (all time favorite)

John Petrucci - Tunnel Vision

Paul Gilbert - Viking Kong

Joe Satriani - If I Could Fly

and I'll add this

Guthrie Govan - Waves

I learned about him thanks to AxeStrangler.

You have great taste! Those are my three favorite also. :P

Great solo choices btw. Paul Gilbert is my favorite guitarist of all time, with Vai in a close second. I love that Viking Kong solo. I also love what he accidentally says in the beginning about Yngwie.

I posted this during the glory days of The Shredders' Union, which consists primarily of metal heads. Even they had to give in to Paul Gilbert's mesmerizing skills. Last one, I promise!
